Portsmouth have now won 6 consecutive games and conceded not a single goal in all of those games. They are Number 1 in the form table. I was encouraged listening today by th second half performance and think we may begin our survival bid on Tuesday. The last 2 times forest have been to the lane, somehow they have got something despite being pounded. Believe in the power, the power of the blades.

Also keep it up Quinn, sounds like you played well again.

"and think we may begin our survival bid on Tuesday"

I don't know if it was intended but that really had me laughing.

:D

We did alright today - the club won't get rid of Adams, I agree with this decision. We're going down and he'll get us back up :)

There was some nutter on P&G claiming that we'd finish 5th from bottom. Crackers.

Survival does start Tuesday, then Saturday and so on. I am as bad as anyone thinking we are down, yet for some reason I have I feel more hope tonight. I don't mind knocking on here as it's a message board and anyone can say what they like (see Len). But matchday is different and from now on they are going to get 100% from me until we are relegated. I don't want the fans to become part of the problem so let's just do everything we can starting Tuesday to help them out. It;s not like we want them to fail. UTB

Still six points from safety, despite losing our "must win" games. Can't see where a win will come from, but strange things happen in football (who'd have predicted the results that got us relegated from the Prem... both times), so still a long way to go, although personally I think we're down. Wouldn't stake my house on it though.

It's not the points gap, it's the complete lack of quality and momentum that has us down. Given a decent center forward and a decent center half, then stranger things have happened. Those players aren't coming. We're down.

Football is basically a simple game.
You have a goalie who makes a few saves and depending on his ability will either gain you a few points in a season or cost you a few points a season.
You have defenders whose primary aim is to stop the opposition from scoring and weigh in with a few goals occasionally, mainly from set pieces.
You have midfielders who supply the ammunition for your forwards to score goals and also control the game as well as score a few goals themselves.
Then you have a couple of strikers who know how to stick the ball in the net. Hopefully more times than your opponents.
A manager that knows a bit about how to blend and inspire his players is also useful.
So, while I absolutely admire your optimism, based on the above principles, we do not possess any of the above basic needs to win a game of football at the moment.

Hope you're right though !!!:):)

I was thinking along these lines today. Dave Bassett's team talk before the Leicester game all those years ago:
"Go out and win the game", a bit of shouting in the dressing room and then they did.
Simple instructions.

Having said that I don't blame Adams too much - its clear that we have some dreadful players at the moment that cannot form a functioning team.

We need to rebuild next year with a strong spine - good goalie, strong centre backs, centre mids and strikers.

You need to lay off the Bostik!

Being Blades, we should all know the script by now. We are bound to pick up a couple of crucial wins only for us lot to start thinking we've actually got a chance of surviving, then, the usual choke will happen on the last day.

Not this time. This is relegation 75/76 stylie. Self inflicted, easily predicted and a long drawn out "last rites".

umm.. a new team then :d
