When you looked at the ten outfield players each of which could have had no argument about being subbed at half time.... And then you looked at the possible replacements on the bench you realised that not a single one of them was better than the player they could have replaced..

Baxter off ... Reed or Scougall on?

etc. etc.

We have kidded ourselves to think this squad is good enough to finish top two.

Mcnaulty looked lively tonight only player I can give any credit to, but yeah we don't have great quality to fall back on.

They could have been 6 up at half time. Four very good chances on top of the two they took .

Moved it quickly with good control and movement off the ball.

We just looked sluggish and clueless.

Very worrying until players return and loanees come in.

Let's pray we get the new loanees right.

Our squad is good enough for top 2 in this division, if you count the quality of players we have injured - Brayford, Adams, Done, Harris, Wallace etc.

It's going to take another couple of months before we can have our best 11 out on the pitch

Tonight's team is certainly not a top 2 team. The squad, built by Clough, is too large, too average, and to imbalanced.

We need Adams, Done and Brayford back.

We need to bring in a dominant midfielder, urgently. We need another centre half.

If injuries to the above become extended, we need more reinforcements.

We've only really played well in one game this season. It's clear after 7 games, that it's not going to be easy this season.

It still doesn't excuse a lack of heart, a lack of desire a lack of bottle and litttle or no fight. A lack of quality you can live with - a lack of the other qualities is inexcusable.

The opposition seem to have a knack of making the whole greater than the sum of the parts. Our lot constantly manage to make the whole far less than the sum of the parts

At half time I was scratching my head wondering if we were playing Real Madrid.
On the break they were cutting through our defence like a hot knife through butter.

If people think our squad is top two material they are deluded. Our shortcomings last season are just as evident this season. A squad piled high with mediocrity and a lack of clear player roles, particularly in Midfield. What a mess Adkins has to deal with, he should've got stuck in a lot more pre-season and been more ruthless with clearing out some of the crap we have. Craig fucking Alcock, saw he was on the bench and nearly shed a tear, forgot we even had him.
