Because our academy is not producing enough players that could fill a backup place in the squad ?
We haven't had a player come through the academy since Brooks, we know changes have been made with Jack Lester et al coming on board but it is going to take time to implement new structures etc.
Maybe the new recruits that many of us deem not good enough have been brought in to fill the void from the academy rather than immediate first team players, with so many injuries (especially JOC) they have been forced into action in a system they still learning about while also learning what it takes to be a Premier league footballer both on the field and off it, it's no real wonder that they are struggling with it! it's a big ask for young fella's put into a strange environment in a strange city.
No-one foresaw the injury to JOC and the impact it would have, perhaps we should get of these players a a break and get of their back, they need support not constant criticism.
