Is there a danger?

Don't get me wrong Lydders, I'd love to see CW make a success of it and he would thoroughly deserve his chance, but things as they are now (and will probably get even more ridiculous) if we don't attract a mega rich investor, I reckon we'd be looking down far more than we'd be looking up and if we do attract someone, then the team I supported as a lad, would be involved in a sport far removed from that which I had always hoped to see.
Weren't we meant to be looking down more than up this season?

Things are great at BDTBL! However we are offering long term contracts to lots of over 30 players who aren't cheap and our neighbours are finding out what it's like to have a squad of over 30's who's legs are going and can't be sold or moved on! It's alright saying CW and AK know what they're doing but some of these contracts didn't need extending but hey have been. Chris says no sentiment but I'm not sure! (tin hat is on!)
Giyoor. Try and actually enjoy it mate

Wilder has signed plenty of younger players and the older ones with extended contracts will still be good value. Added to that they will be fringe players as time passes on. Playing a part from the bench/ covering injuries will extend their career.

I honestly think Wilder is planning for the Prem in this time scale and would not commit to any player who can't play there, at least from the bench.

These are quality players and strong characters. If they had poor lifestyles or attitudes I don't think they'd still be here.

Don't you worry about tin hat. Been seeing this and worrying myself. I suppose the explanation is if we go up and have to change personnel quickly (a) they are signed if we need them and (b) if we don't they are worth something on contract to a Championship Club. If we don't go up, then at least we have them for a second attempt or they have a value on sale.

We are a very competitive championship football club that has earned the right to be competing in the top six.
Little steps and all that.

I usually worry about players over 30 but with advances in medical science players are still playing at 35 in some cases. I think we have a much better medical team now than when Clough was in charge and we are now playing a much more high energy style so I'm fairly confident they will spot any drop off in performance from the players should there be any. Let's be right Clough and his team were amateurs when it came to looking after the players well being a prime example being Brayford and Coutts just to name a few.

[QUOTE"PittsburghBlade, post: 1594259, member: 16123"]Typical United fans, just when nothing is wrong create a panic about nothing actually being wrong.[/QUOTE]
Who exactly is panicking? It's been a quiet day and i thought as this is a forum I'd ask does anyone else see the advantage in offering new contracts to older players with more than a year on their contracts. No panic just a question worthy of debate I thought
