No.

Signing 3 or 4 decent players in the areas we need them, is the answer. What the question is however, who knows.

I genuinely find this mind boggling. I accept yesterday was a woeful performance, and that we haven't played great this season. The fact of the matter is we're still in a very strong position! We lost an awful lot of goals and creativity with Evans, Williamson and Lowton, yet still we're still in a great position for automatic promotion. A few changes in January are inevitable, some of which are a necessity. If we do sign this Murphy lad from Motherwell I for one will be delighted with that (I expect a swap deal involving Chris Porter to seal it)

So come on lets not be all doom and gloom, it could be a lot worse! We're on course to be promoted this season, something which I didn't expect preseason truth be told! However if we do go up I think thats the time to worry. I don't see many of the current squad good enough for the Championship

Elsewhere I have seen it suggested that Keith Hill is the man for United, now he's been sacked by Barnsley. That's Keith Hill with his 25.68% win rate at Barnsley, as opposed to Danny Wilson's 54.55% win rate at Sheffield United. I would say the Keith Hill is no more the man for the job than Sean O'Driscoll, another name put forward, is at the moment. Sacking Wilson now would be just a knee-jerk reaction to losing one game in a row, at best a panic and at worst a calamity.

As career stats go Wilson has the best of the three, so why any need for change? We've been playing some decent football, but like the worst brat on Christmas day looking at his presents and throwing a massive tantrum because Number 77 on the list of 100 wasn't there, some people can never, ever be satisfied with what can be afforded at the moment.

This isn't to suggest that I am totally satisfied with Wilson's tenure, and especially not with McCabe's, before some bright spark reckons that because I prefer Wilson to Hill or O'Driscoll it means I alone am to blame for United's current predicament. I'm just suggesting that the two named alternatives to Wilson are not the Holy Grail of managers that some would suggest they are, and of the three, Wilson is currently by far the best of them.

Keith Hill !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keith fookin Hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never heard so much drivel come out of one blokes gob in my entire life! The man has got verbal diarrhea. He just makes it up as he goes along. If he EVER got the job thats me done.

Agree with that. The three promoted sides from last season Charlton, Hudds and the pigs are all struggling. Could be a bigger quality difference developing between league 1 and the championship a la championship and the premier league. I suppose we won't need to worry about it until we get there on 27th April or before.

Keith Hill ffs......No.
DW needs to see this season out IMO, but I agree his tactics/substitions are sometimes questionable (at best).

I have had a few Jackiecolas tonight (so could be a bit out of it!) but did you mean "one game in a row" Shorehamview?
It confused the feck out of me........:)

Who could seriously advocate sacking a manager when a club is at the top of the league? Has it ever happened, anywhere? Thankfully, only the 3 morons voted for it - yet still Micalijo, Mpjacko and metalblade will think they know best. Pricks.

you arent familiar with steve evans then?

If Keith Hill or Sean O'driscoll is the answer.................What is the question??

If there was to be a change of manager at the end of the season how about McCall?

with all due respect to stuart, it's a world of difference managing a team with no expectations in the SPL. the SPL is bordering on league two standard. celtic could probably win the league putting in their youth team.it would be a similar gamble to micky adams.

unless of course you mean this guy, then id be in complete approval...

Rate both managers mentioned highly and in different circumstances, either would be great.

But...

Wilson IS doing a fantastic job, even though many still find this difficult to come to terms with, thus threads like this one !

Wilson most definitely in for me.

But football has a funny way of panning out ................... ;)
