to book a hotel for the play off final?
Top six is well within our reach. Top 2? Sadly I don't think so.
Maybe if we strengthen in Jan, but otherwise it's going to be lottery time.
If I was a betting man, my money would be on a 3rd or 4th place finish.

Edit: too kinell, too.

Better do it quick, I've heard the massive S6 have booked up 90% already.

Hear me out, I hate the prem but we need it's money..

So the play off final win that I've always dreamed of, yeah I'll take the possibility..

And if we lose then at least we will be in a division we can compete in and win a game or two...so i'm with you.

We have a team capable of automatic. Tonight's gargantuan brainfart from Wilder doesn't change that.

Yeah stretch we've over worked the defence tonight, but been undone by a great free kick which goes in whatever league you play in, and sydie peck being left one in one at 20 years old..

It's the attack or lack of that we need to address, we've had great strikers wo get fuck all chances..sorry but they dont miss sitters do they..cause they dont get any service..

Give them a chance ffs..they can't all suddenly dry up for goals.

We don’t if Wilder fks up like this

We looked more like a bottom 6 side

Absolutely.

He needs to draw a line under tonight, as an experiment that is never to be repeated.

Don't shackle a winning team FFS, let them do their thing.

I'm not sure we do Stretchy,
This was our first big test, and most people I spoke to feared the worst long before the line up was announced, regardless of the Leeds fans opinions in Roy's 'View From'
I thought Leeds and Burnley would finish top 2 before the season started, and sadly, I still think the same.

If we'd have backed ourselves and gone into the game on the front foot, I think we would have got something tonight mate. Leeds are great coming forward, but their midfield and defence are just decent, nothing more. We'd likely have conceded anyway, but I am confident we would have scored.

In the end we just made ourselves look like a lower league team playing a top team in the cup. Submissive and embarrassing, which are not words I would use to describe this team.

Agree of course

But where’s the fear come from ?

Go for it and lose / we will accept

Set up like that v a flaky Leed’s side - fl off

Well , that sums it up

This is baffling me too. Not something I thought we would ever see from Wilder again.

Tonight reminded me of the "we can't compete" era, when things started to unravel.

Well it's just one game and one result, but it was a real shocker.

If we get back on the front foot against Boro all will be forgiven, even if we lose.

Just don't roll over for anyone FFS. It's simply not in our DNA, and he should know that more than anyone.

Agree

But I’m sure he’s tripped over to the fearful side

Hope I’m wrong 😑

In the words of the famous Jack Lord of Hawaii 5-0 … book it Dano
We need to get that Wembley shit off our back

I think the reason we didn't back ourselves is that Wilder has seen what we've all seen, and that is our inability to score even against 'lesser' sides.
In our last 8, we've averaged one goal a game. One was unlikely to be enough for the win against Leeds, unless we're going to be ultra cautious, which we were.
We went there FOR the win, rather then to going there TO win. There's a big difference.
If we'd have 'gone for it' I think we'd have lost a higher scoring game, which is what some seem to be advocating.
Although I can understand CW's approach, you're right in that it made us a little like your last paragraph.
More concerning for me is the psychological lift that would have given one of our closest rivals for the top 2 places.

Fair, but the changes made us even weaker up top and didn't really strengthen an already supreme defence. It all just seemed so pointless.

Which, of course, it ultimately was Stretchy ;)
Oh well, onwards and hopefully upwards.
Have a good weekend mate.

The roll over was in our side all last season and crept in again last night, carbon copy of the premiership as Farke gave us 10 minutes, worked us out, pushed up 10 yards and dominated us. Swansea pressed us all over the pitch first half at ours and we had no idea how to change it until they were fucked,Leeds were fitter, stronger. We were doing ok before that but it showed our inexperience and limitations under pressure, management included.

Like Everyone, it seemed a very negative change and bringing RND was a risk. We changed a lot. But, I haven’t seen Leeds this season or last and so haven’t seen how other sides have set up against them.

For 20 mins it seemed to work - high defensive line and we looked organised and ok in possession, getting forwards and we looked the danger side.

Leeds changed things and ended up opening the game more, getting the width they needed with fullbacks getting forward and they were suddenly the pressing side giving us no space and affecting our possession.

Arblaster, Moore, Burrows, RND, O’Hare and Hamer all caught in possession, caught ball watching or making errors. Extremely frustrating

We had to make changes with personnel as RND was done, Hamer we didn’t want to take a risk and O’Hare was completely ineffective. I don’t think it was the game to bring Campbell in alongside Moore, thought Brewster was the better option, leaving Moore on was wrong for me.

Leeds scored a soft goal from a corner and could then sit back as they knew our game wasn’t working, even when we changed to a back 4, Gilchrist made us look more solid defensively.

For me, Leeds were very good, they pressed well, but it was only after they made changes to react to our game. First 20 mins of the first half and right before they scored we’d had good spells, we just didn’t have the players or composure to match for 90 mins

Not sure we’ll play a tougher side

Mmmm, starting to change my mind Stretch.
I only caught a bit of the Millwall v Burnley game, but Burnley looked way off the mark.

Watched a bit of that too mate, and agree. They looked poor.

The Burnley TV commentators were lamenting a few injuries, but with the squad Parker has it shouldn't make that much difference.
