My concern is NA appears to be targeting Championship players, they are all older professionals they will not improve and the resale value will be minimal and certainly come requiring a decent wage. The argument probably they will be able to cope in the Championship, unfortunately we have to achieve promotion first to test that theory. I would prefer to sign players on the rise who can improve and will have a resale value, rather than the short term fixes NA appears to want. From somewhere the powers that be have develop a strategy in recruitment that can continue regardless of who the manager is. This continual turnover of players over the last few years is downright stupid and a total waste
My concern is that the board have stipulated any new manager should look to build a team using "players with experience at a higher level". In terms of "mistakes", I wonder if they are referring to Clough's penchant for a young Scot or two. It certainly became a stick to beat him with, by some fans.

NA or the board led recruitment smacks of a short term fix no long term plan. NA often talks of a pathway to the first team for the academy but that well appears to be dry at the minute. We can only speculate on the age, type of player NA was chasing in the JTW but I would hope they were younger and more mobile than his last signings.
