  • talks about the need for consistency
  • partnerships and team need time to gel
  • no doubt results will improve - says this a number of times
  • tighter division than it was previously - any team can beat any other
  • five years ago you could see teams used to be beaten before they came to the Lane [Fleetwood looked a bit like this to me]
  • asked about returning players - mentions Coutts by name
  • no problem with the fans' frustrations as he'd likely be the same
  • positive about squad
  • positive about returning players
  • positive about League position given form so far
Like a lot of us I think he expects us to kick on at some point. I keep turning up hoping this'll be the game.

This worries me a bit:
  • no doubt results will improve - says this a number of time
Smacks of potential complacency to me.

listened to it earlier - for all the slatings that he, and the team have had, he takes it on the chin and doesn't criticise the fans, I like that.

I think he's played well. He did make a mistake along with the ref and half our team in the comedy of errors for Millwall's second but for me there's far more in the credit than debit columns for him this season.

It was good to see him there on Tuesday at the u18s game too.

I agree re the credit over debit. Not been to as many games as you will have been to, but on what I've seen he has been OK - he knows he is a limited player, but with him alongside Edgar it all seemed to be going nicely up until that feckin international break.

I suspect we'll kick on William about 4 games from the end of season.:(

Interesting that Collins points to Coutts and so did Doyle last season.

I'd go with Coutts and Hammond in a 4-2-3-1 with full backs on an overlapping mission. Basham at the back with Collins until Edgar is fit.

The only player left since our relegation season, coincidence?

Would 100% love to see him transferred out of the club

Well, aside from Long and Kennedy, both of whom made their débuts in the shambles that was the 4-0 defeat at Swansea :)

How many times have you seen us this season?

He was been consistently one of our worst players, and i for one think our defence would look a hell of a lot better with him out of it rather than in it.

Who would you have picked instead last Saturday for example? Serious question. McGahey partnered him, would you have picked him before Collins too?

I think we should move him on at the end of the season but for now, he is well worth his place. And, when he goes, I suspect there will be those that acknowledge what he brought to the team only in his absence as is happening with Doyle this season.
Although we let Doyle go and it's taken until last week to bring in his replacement. If we don't replace Collins until two months into next season, yes he may be missed.

Agreed failure to replace is a bigger issue but you'll always get those that say "anyone would be better than him" and it becomes abundantly clear that it's not true when said player is no longer in the team and you realise the attributes that are missing.

Collins is not the reason we are still in league 1. There are 11 players on the pitch not 1. He didn't play last season and
We are still down here so you can hardly blame him. Nothing wrong with collo, would rather have him in side than not

I'd go with all of that but I'd leave Collins in alongside Basham - they'd benefit from each other. Basham as Maguire did, and Collins would benefit hugely by having a solid, consistent partner alongside him he can rely on.
