Talk about making the stats fit the story:

Sheffield United are the best side in the Championship for testing the opposition goalkeeper, new research has shown. The stats, from bookmaker bwin, show that 38 per cent of United's shots are on target, which is higher than any other team in the second tier.[

The headline only works if you talk about the proportion of shots. We're the most efficient with our shots but I'd say that being "the best side for testing the opposition goalkeeper" requires the highest number of shots on target. Which tests a keeper more: 38.5% of 536 shots (190 on target - our total from last season) or 30.1% of 798 shots (240 on target, which Brentford achieved)?

What's even better is that footstats.co.uk suggests that we're actually fourth for the shots on target measure (behind Hull, Wolves and Cardiff). On the bright side, Wednesday came in last.

Not just twatting it at goal every time you cross the half way line increases the ratio of shots on target, who knew
