This site shows the players in and out of each club this summer - my quick counting shows that about 230 players have been released in total with only 120 being taken in. It goes to show that every club is really tightening their belts and that a)more younger players will be used and b) the loan system will be very busy soon.

Also only 8 fees have been shown - all the others are undisclosed/loan/released/contracted ended - and Paddy is included twice in those eight.

wheres the site?

I was wondering about this after seeing Portsmouth's squad list the other day. Where are the other 120 players?! Sunday League??

Think the PFA site generally has all the details of currently clubless players.

Many will simply be out of work pending a reduction in their salary demands.

Preston recently offered Youl Mawene a new contract on £2k a week less. He said no ta, thanks all the same, but no other clubs took him.

I thought he was unemployed, but having just Wiki'd him, he's supposed to be at some unknown Greek side as of last Friday.

What we are seeing is a lot of sides waiting for Premiership sides to finish putting their squads together. Due to poor finances in football, and the World Cup, most of the transfer activity has taken place later that usual this year

Its been on of the deadest transfer windows i can remember TBH.

Usually after a world cup theres lots of big money deals going off, but TBH only Man City have been in the market.

Could we finally be seeing wages about to DROP on ave for players this year?

Come on Dingledog, do your stuff......

Cant help thinking thats out of date !
Dickov to Leeds surely hes at Oldam as manager ?
Us just signing France this year?
interesting to see Mifsud and Trundle as unnattached ,I`d take Trundle on low wages as a back up unless hes crocked of course and he would need to lose a stone or two but with our notorious fitness programme that should be do able

Trundle is the new player manager of Neath in the Welsh League. Clearly he has decided to reduce playing to focus on his coaching - he even turned down Newport County who have been promoted back to the Conference.

We need to sign players aged 20-25, not has-been journeymen unless they can genuinely improve the side. I actually think we've got a good base to the side this year - we just need to supplement the team with some hungry players around that age bracket who haven't quite had the chance elsewhere, or are rising through the leagues.
