The Inter Blades won their derby match this morning at SUCC Bawtry Road, against a Donny side that had beaten us home and away the previous season.
The Inter Blades welcomed attacking midfielder Alex Paramore back to the squad after a long absence, and gave a debut to winger Matt Bradley.
Report from our stand in Manager below:
It was nice to get what we deserved today. The first 10 minutes weren't great and Donny looked like they were going to be a threat, taking the lead with a shot that "bobbled" under Quinny (his words not mine). However, once we settled into the match we dominated and limited Donny to very few chances. Drew, Dale and Adam ran the show in the first half and Adam twice put Alex Paramore through on goal for him to first level the scores and then put us in the lead.
In the second half Matt was given a run out playing Adam's role as the more attacking of the 3 midfielders, whilst Adam later went up front in place of Alex. This saw us switch to more of a 4-2-3-1 formation and whilst I don't think we passed the ball quite as well as in the first half, we were still very effective and more than a match for Donny. Early on Alex should have completed his hattrick from the penalty spot but the win was eventually sealed when Adam Ward finished into an empty net after the ball was cut back to him.
Inter Blades Goalscorers:
Alex Paramore x 2
Adam Ward
Well done boys!
