Really a request for info :

What exactly is the nature of Ched's "unfitness" - something that "needs an operation that would put him out for a month but can play at 60% in the meantime" - what on earth is that then Chris ?

What exactly is the nature/prognosis of Billy's sore tummy ?

How bad is Clayton's hamstring ?

Why is Hansen out of consideration ? If he's injured , why would he have been on the verge of leaving until Cole & Sinclair fell through at the last minute ? Who would have taken him if injured ?

Leon was reputed to have withdrawn at the last minute due to family problems - so why did Chris say he was out due to an injury at Bolton l

Lavery is the only one who is obviously crocked for some time.

So that's a total of No Fit Strikers whatsoever.

Can anyone provide any info / reassurance ?

'Can anyone provide any info / reassurance?'

Nope, as in the dark as you. Just hoping that 2 of Clarke, Donaldson and Sharp are available on Sunday [think they might be] with 1 being available as a minimum.

I think what we did Saturday, minus the shite defending in the first half and with Donaldson for Ched, would actually be an extremely good system.

Donaldson and Brooks are both positive players, Don has shown that he can make good runs and Brooks will link up nicely with him.

So just one fit striker would do me, but I hope we have a bit more choice.

Ched should get his operation. I admire him for playing with an injury but he's not really doing us any favours, I feel like a yoof striker that's 100% fit but inexperienced and an experienced striker out for a few weeks but fully fit on his return is better than what we had on Saturday. And you never know, being forced into calling up an under 23 may turn out to be some amazing fairy tale and the lad'll score 25 goals.

A yoof might not score loads of goals, but neither will Ched at the moment from the looks of things, he can't even kick the ball full whack according to his interview in the program. Getting him fully fit should be the priority and we'll make do in the meantime, either with attacking midfielders or with a rookie.

He's looked alright to be honest, not bashing him, but he'll serve us better fit. I think he'll get a fair few once he is.

Obviously I'm not a football manager though haha

So in short no one knows anything about the mystery of our strikers' various conditions, which will worry the fuck out of us till next Sunday.
I'd be happier if we just said our CF will be JOC or CCV , then I wouldn't have to contemplate the stupidity of it ending up as Bashambauer like on Saturday.

Would imagine we'll have to wait while Friday for wilders pre match interview

Wilder clearly had foreseen these issues arising with his attempts to sign Sinclair and Cole. With one of them upfront instead of Ched things might have been a bit different last satdi.

One thing is for sure this Sundi will be brutal and the team selection should reflect that.

Chesterfield kept injecting Evans to numb the pain so that he could play through. That has made things worse. SUFC have analysed it and said - "that needs operating on". Once operated on, everything will be back in the correct position, hence optimum performance.

I think I'd rather Donaldson back than Sharp. Unless Billy has a decent partner, he's been anonymous away from home.

Nice to have both back as well as Clarke.

Think your forgetting Billy is a true blade, and Sunday will mean everything to him, he surely will play out of his skin and bag a brace minimum, don't rule Sharp out at all.
I think there are a few tactics also at play here, so we lost to Norwich, we play South barnsley massive on wilders birthday!, as a blade, which match would you rather lose!!??

Yes:

Ched: Aids...both ears.

Billy: Not injured but 'secretly held back by Chris for the derby'

Clayton: age.

Hanson: Up for a new stage production of the Adams family, Mickey's new production in the West End ( not sure which role mind...)

Leon: Pride hurt. ( see other thread)

Lavery: you've nailed that one already.

Hope that helps.

When the team sheets are handed to the officials on Sunday Wendy will be in a state of shock as all strikers will be fit to
Play. Good to keep em guessing Chris

Think originaltrueblade has it right. If it wasn't the pigs next week Billy would have played and maybe one other on the bench at least

I remember a certain Brian Deane, having glandular fever and ripping the pigs a new one back in Nov 1992, dont worry about Billy, he'll be reight!
Glandular fever is really debilitating for a year after you have had it. Well it took me a year to play again after I contracted it in 1984.

I hope it's as simple as that, because Ched and Wilder sound adamant that he has a lot more to give. I think it's an exaggeration to say he's currently at 60% though.

We had a freekick on Saturday, ideal range for one of Ched's thunderous freekicks and he stepped away from it allowing Duffy to take it, that's when i knew he was definitely injured.

These two might know the answer.

We will need not to get too carried away by emotion. We have a match 3 days after the derby, and if two half-fit strikers are risked on Sunday, and it leaves us with none against Wolves (and beyond), that would not be a smart move. Each match is worth 3 points, whatever the emotions of a derby. I would rather finish above Wednesday than beat them on Sunday. I realise that we don't get to choose... and I'll get my tin-hat on.

I'm not sure if billy or don will play on Sunday?. Wilder will leave us all guessing for the next few days!!. That's one of the many things I love about wilder. He keeps his cards close to his chest and leaves everyone else guessing?. We'll have the answer when he hands the team sheet in on Sunday. In wilder we trust. Utb

His last game prior to that match in Nov 1991 was in the 2-1 defeat at Oldham on Sept 7th

He tried to make a comeback and was out again, we'd sold Agana a few weeks earlier and it wasn't looking great going into the match without a recognized striker, Bryson and Bradders was looking like the partnership to start.

To be fair Agana was always injured that season and we got good offer from Notts County

Given the opposition in our next game, I suspect we'll hear nothing until the team sheet comes out on Sunday.

I thought we'd sold Agana the week before the derby? I remember Wendy fans singing "Where's Agana gone?" and our fans responding by singing "Oh Ronnie Ronnie Atkinson" (Atkinson had been labelled a Judas by Wendy fans after departing for Villa that summer).

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING BEFORE WE PLAY THEM FFS!

Might have been a week before, i know Warnock said at one point his worse signing for Notts County was Agana for £750k.
