....at BDTBL tomorrow night. We will play the more attractive football. we will witness in Newcastle a dream team for Blackwell - one devoid of any creative flair. Not sure of their injury situation but I think they have power throughout the side - Lovenkrands and Gutierez provide some pace and spark and at their best these two look very good to me in second tier. We will be physically over-powered, suffer from set-pieces and inspite of our best efforts I don't think we'll have the ability to get through them.

I got very harshly lambasted for giving an incredibly accurate report of Blackpool before it happened, but that does not put me off from spouting forth the truth!

Is Ward near fitness? How are our myriad of other injured players that are so vital to our team? Is Monty on track?

All in all I predict a similar outcome as with Cardiff. A defeat where for the most part it is tough to slate the attitude of the players or the approach but where there is a glaring lack of confidence and ability to get the better of organised opposition over 90 minutes

Not sure about Ward.

Myself on the other hand have a feeling we'll win this. I don't know why, its just a gut feeling I've had a few times and it tends to be right, worked with Arsenal home game in prem and a few others, I do for the life of me hope its bloody right tomorrow too.

Looking at Newcastle's squad they may get a few players back from injury tomorrow. Steven Taylor, Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini may all return, which means they should be stronger at the back.

I watched them against Ipswich and they looked very dangerous going forward, getting a lot of crosses in for their big strikers Ranger and Carroll. Nolan got a hat trick, so he's one to watch as well. They have struggled to score goals following that game though.

Newcastle are doing much better than I expected but I still think they're beatable. They've had a few dodgy results thus far to Blackpool & Forest and by all accounts were lucky to scrape past Donny. Good team with a good manager but I think we're due a result and with it being on the tele I think we'll perform.

Tomorrow would have been one of those games where NW would have got the players fired-up. A night match against one of the top sides, on the telly. I think we'll learn a lot about KB, his motivational qualities, and whether Killa's heart is still with us. We hear rumours about "unrest" in the dressing room. I don't know whether there are problems or not. But tomorrow is quite a "big game" as far as our season is concerned. A win tomorrow and it could get us back on track.

If we lose tomorrow, there'll be some very interesting fixtures in the Championship next weekend as far as the bottom half is concerned with 8 of the bottom 10 playing each other*, and if things don't go well for us we could be in the middle of a relegation battle.

My main worry tomorrow is Kevin Nolan. The last few games we've been letting midfielders drift into the box from deep and punish us far too often, and that's exactly what Nolan is all about. He could cause us endless problems and I personally think he needs to be man marked.

*The fixtures I was referring to are:

Derby v Coventry
Plymouth v Doncaster
Reading v Ipswich
Barnsley v Sheff Utd

We hear rumours about "unrest" in the dressing room. I don't know whether there are problems or not. .

There are always rumours of unrest when we're not winning. I suspect they are no more true than any other kind of rumour. The only thing that changes is how many people want to believe it.

But tomorrow is quite a "big game" as far as our season is concerned. A win tomorrow and it could get us back on track.

It is a very big game for us. If we win, and follow it up at Barnsley then we are back on track. Jamie Ward and Monty should be back for Peterborough (one rumour you can believe), so we'd be getting our more influential players back at exactly the right time.

Chins up...

Indeed!!! Chins up Blades !!! We're the underdogs tomorrow night. The Championship media darlings are in town. Chins up. Chests out. Get into 'em from the start. COYRAWW.

its on the telly. And we always play crap on the telly!
Hope to be proven wrong though!:)

You must be joking about Collocini? He has been Newcastle's weak link since he joined them.

Newcastle conceded only four goals in the eight matches Coloccini played before his injury. The point though was that they may have three defenders available for selection again, which may mean they'll be stronger defensively.

Collocini has been woeful, and horribly out of position whenever I've seen him play. If he does play, we have to try to attack him.

Yeah Collocini is the weak link but is he crap enough for us to be able to exploit?

I'd say so. It does mean concentrating down the wings though to stretch their defence to expose his weakness. Whether we can do that effectively is a moot point.

He is actually a decent defender, but he really hasn't fitted in 'Doon Toon' from what I've seen.

Sadly I have to agree with Micalijo; I think that we'll get beat tonight. I just don't expect us to get anything out of the game. Newcastle are beatable. Absolutely! Santos is right that they have started well, but they aren't great. However, I just can't see our team, lacking in confidence, shipping in goals, beating them. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if we beat them. It would be very Sheffield United to do so. I remember a few years ago (under NW) when we lost 3 on the bounce (including a 4 nil hammering by Wigan) and we stuffed leadrers Sunderland at BDTBL. However, with KB's home record and our current form I only see this being another nail in KB's coffin!?
