Tom Davies- only just got back to fitness. Puts in a MOM performance, heartbeat of the team in that match, always there, pushing, pressing, dictating - won the ball for the 2nd goal.

Fantastic effort from him, very difficult to find a replacement for absent Vinni - but now we have Vinni and Davies no better midfielders in the division - great news going into the 2nd half of the season.

They are the petit and viera of the championship

He seemed to get stronger as the game went on, very encouraging

He’s been excellent the last 2 games, to say he’s been forced to start the last 2 he’s not shirked the hard work at all and looks good on the ball. Really hope he stays fit, him and Vini could be a good pair.

Was surprised he stayed on, he was throwing up on pitch when he came back out for 2nd half

Harsh on Peck (he’ll need a break at some point) but I’m looking forward to seeing Davies next to Vini at some point this season.

I think they’d be classy as fuck together

Actually I thought he was awful against Plymouth, as were most of the team. But that’s understandable given he’s coming back from 18 months out.

But he was fantastic today. A proper top champ all-round midfield performance - gritty off the ball, classy on it, looking forward all the time (despite being up against two banks of four).

Agree that him and Souza look like a good match. Davies very much played the ‘Blaster’ role today and Peck played the ‘Souza’ role. I thought it was the most balanced and controlled we’ve been in midfield for a long time.

No slight on Peck - I thought this was his best game for us - but he’ll need a rest and going into the second half of a long champ season, you want your go-to midfield to be the experienced two.

Wilder said in his interview that Davies had been ill with a virus as well. It sounded like he only played because others were injured or unwell

Agreed, harsh on Peck but Sydie might appreciate the rest if Vini and Davies get the nod in midfield when both are fit and available.

I think with Peck’s attitude to the game he will understand that he is still very much in the development stage of his career and rest is essential to keep his body up to the demands of a Championship season.

A great conundrum for Wider to have.

Everytime he plays you know there’s a really good player in there. Some great touches and seems to have the footballing brain of someone way above our level.

I would start with Vini and Davies next game (if fit).

But a fit Tom Davies is looking very good for us. Issue is can his body hold out in this gruelling period. Think we will have to see some rotation happening.
