Knowing that were a goal down on agg, can we actually beat em by a goal (to take us to ET) or even kill it off during 90 mins. But the main question: Beat em in 90 mins?

Things to consider;
Draw or loss during 90 mins and we're out.
Despite immaculate defending, we didn't look like scoring.

As football fans who know the game inside out, get your views in!!

Yes we can, but no we won't. Mike Dean is referee.

First half very tight with us in our usual 4-5-1 and cautious mode. Second half we'll have a go and probably get picked off. If we had strikers like Swindon and Bristol City then I think we'd be favourites, but we haven't.

Hope we are still in it at half time and hope the weather is really harsh in the second half. Those foreign players will not relish the combination of the weather, the crowd and getting rushed off their feet. Walker said as much in an interview reported in the Daily Telegraph yesterday.

We need an early goal and as some Spurs fans eluded to they may panic. The difficulty is measuring the need to score 2 goals with not conceding any.

If we win can only see it being via extra time. 1 nil to us in 90 min. Snatch it via a goal mouth scramble in front of the Kop on 120 mins. Queue mass hysteria

It will be tough, but it's possible. We can do it.

It's the Blades way. We don't get hammered at WHL, so we are all full of hope for the second leg. Come the second leg, Spurs step up a gear, we are never in it, they get one on 63 minutes and coast through. CF the Hull semi.

As John Cleese once said (or something like it) it's not the failure that kills you, it's the hope...

we need to win 1-0 a goal in the 89th minute will do either beat them in extra time or on penalties
dont have to score 6 1 might be enough
however we are at home , did we not carve enough openings v southampton and I think they are far better side than spurs
If we get a full house of 25000 noisy blades we can raise our game on andrenalin by 20%
belief,,, thats the key

negativity is like a disease, we must stay behind them even if spurs score first , dont mean its over means we have to win 2-1 to get to penalties

A couple of things:
- Bear in mind away goals do count - 2-1 means we will go out.
- Clough prepared exactly for this scenario. All of the interviews were about "What's the worst result we can come away with?" and his response, and that of the players, was "we just need to be in the tie". Clough set out the team yesterday for total damage limitation in the hope of a compact performance at the Lane with a goal or two, like Southampton. He seemed pretty content with the result too.

we will win 2 -1, thats the kind of thing that happens to us. Either that or get a pasting.
