Everton were more comfortable on the ball and the first 20 minutes of the second half was poor. But glad.to get a point on the board today. A last minute winner would have led to some scenes though! UTB.

I would've taken it

Season starts properly when we have our proper team on the pitch. We were at least 2 players short today

Pleased we've managed 4 goals in 4 games

Better performance but not a good result. We are now 11% of the way through the season and eaten away at 3 very winnable games with 1 point to show for it. It’s very feasible we don’t win any of the next 6 and if that happens we would be all but down.

Glass half empty view

• 4 games, no win and a hard run after the international break
• defensively making mistakes
• Poor planning and execution of our transfer strategy left us short for winnable games

Glass half full (and I’d argue more realistic view)

• been in every game with 1/2 a squad
• could easily have been sat on 3 points from 4 games (with said half squad ) including one against the best side in the world.
• post international break l we should see closer to a first 11
• we’ve got goals in us with mcatee to come in
• big money signings have looks good in the limited time We’ve seen them.
• I believe We now have more ‘match winners’ than last time we were in the PL.

Yet on the other hand you'd say he tipped one onto the underside of the bar and it came out and the second hit him in the face and luckily hit the inside of the post and came out.

Don't blame him taking the plaudits after the goal in the first half, but just like the volley by Thomas. He knew little about a few of his saves.

Keeping's a funny art. Sometimes it's just positioning and getting something in the way and it looks lucky. Sometimes you see a fantastic save and then on the replay actually they made it look a lot better than it is. One of those "the better they are, the luckier they get" type things.

All I know is if we concede one where it bounces off the post and in off Wes's arse then I'll be cursing our luck. And if one smacks him on the nose and away to safety I'll thank my lucky stars.
