I enjoyed today's game because we won, yes I moaned, I sit with a good group of people and we all have a moan and a laugh together but we don't boo or scream obscenity's at the players , the Ref perhaps but that's a different matter.
I'm a Unitedite, not overly bothered about the England team, though I like them to do well, no interest at all in the Premier League because we're not in it, and even less in the European Cup, I just go to the Lane hoping to see the Blades win and I've done it for sixty years so I must like it.
I've watched them through the good years and the lean years and yes there has been more tears than laughter but then the bad times have always made the good times seem even more precious..
But the game seems to have changed now, everybody's a critic and it's gone beyond having a few pints and a good laugh with your mates to a game of Chess, it's not about your team just winning a game it has to be won with style to please everyone.
I've already said I enjoyed the game although it was on a tight rope at times I came away smiling so imagine my surprise when I got home to hear the wife (not a big football fan) say she had listened to the match on radio Sheffield and guy on there had really spoiled it buy taking over the show moaning about how bad it was. she said all he could talk about was how it was in his day...
Sorry Kieth but for me when you start being that detrimental to my team on radio, it's time to move on....

Keith Edwards takes about 5 minutes to make a 15 second point. Reason 4598251 why I don't go anywhere near Radio Sheffield.

He really is the most miserable of bleeders. Great footballer in his day, absolutely, but have someone with a bit of enthusiasm please, after all he is the Blades pundit.

I was at the game today so didn't hear him, just going on past pundetry. For what its worth, I'm with you Sandy, a few beers with friends, a laugh and a scrappy 1 nil win. Really what is there not to like about it! :)

All well and good, but did you go to Oldham? :p

Keith Edwards tells the truth, and that seems to attract criticism, as I've found out on here.

He does tell the truth, but not necessarily when people think he does ;)

Sometimes he's asked to fill air space and simply has to say something to make things "interesting".

Great post.

A hero as a player. A villain as a pundit.

He gives voice and credence to a damaging negativity. We need constructive criticism (which occasionally surfaces) not negativity.

Hey getting the wrong tickets and four of you stood in the middle of their cop wearing red and white scarves in a 54 and half thousand crowd when you win 3-1 is an experience believe me..........

Wouldn't you be miserable ,if you were a dried up bog liner ,relegated from scoring goals at the Lane to driving a wagon round and sitting with Radio wanktypes trying to justify why you should have been a manager.

I'm sorry but I have to say that in my day of fags booze and a round of golf every afternoon, purely for training you understand, that that.... would not have been allowed.....:tumbleweed:

Nothing wrong with Keith Edwards - tells it as it is. Sometimes the truth hurts.

Kevin Gage was great when Edwards was in hospital a while back though.

Doesn't matter WHO RS had to summarise - there is no pleasing our lot.

This forum gets more like BM as each week passes.

What we need is someone as ludicrously biased as John Pearson

Keith's commentary is not necessarily wrong. He is annoying though when repeating himself every match and often repeating himself during a match and not telling us what is happening in the game.

Commentators should tell us what is happening not necessarily telling us what should be happening except maybe in breaks during play.

I have to say that I had the utmost respect for him as a player and his patience with young fans requesting autographs etc

You can't argue with his record but I do think if he hadn't played for us the fans would have formed a lynch party before now ......
He says it has HE see it but if he was hogging this board the way he hogs the commentary we would be calling him a WUM .....
