I love this club to bits. I used to go home and away to everywhere

I was fortunate to adopt a child early this year so my priority this season changed and i devoted my time to this.

I managed to get to a few matches. The last before tonight being Rochdale away. Despite the victory in my eyes it as a disgrace. The whole play all night being poor.

I pushed myself to go tonight, giving up time with my new family. 20 mins in I thought 'brilliant'. So much for these negative jibes. We're playing great. Them wam bam we score.

From there on in an utter disgrace.

Im sorry but family comes first im done witb you United.

I've given everything over the years for you. Plymouth night match away, norwichaway midday Sunday. I'm sure others have done more and will continue to do so. Fair play to you.

I can give no more. My family means more and gives me more.

I'll keep an eye out from you afar but no more

Will love you always.

Following the blades is gut wrenching, heartbreaking, frustrating and annoying, but in a strange way you have to go through all of this to fully appreciate the good times.

We are on balance at a low ebb right now, but all is not lost, and occasionally there is something to smile about.

Been there Fella . But following a football club is the only other thing , with your kids , what sticks with you all your life . Move house , move friends , get divorced , change jobs. have kids.

Kids and United sometimes go hand in hand . Don't blame you , but one swallow doesn't make a summer ( trying to put a positive spin on it ) .

Keep the faith pal , and watch from afar.

Then we go to Swindon Monday and win all of a sudden will you not be done with us? Blades are for life just because you can't go as much is fine, I can't I have a family as well and they come first but I go when I can and always listen or watch or have the Internet on my phone whenever there is a game on. Just because you have a family doesn't mean you can't follow us or be as bigger fan as always. When your child is old enough take them to a game win, lose or draw you will love taking them, I took my daughter for the first time this season at home to Peterborough we lost and was awful but I loved taking her.

It's a shame, but thousands of us have raised families and managed to do both. It's far from either or.

The footballl of late is a disgrace, but if it's put you off for good then I suspect you've been losing the love for some time. Hopefully you'll be back one day.

As kids grow up going to United games can become one of the things the family continue doing together way beyond those teenage years.

Even if your kids can't get to games it is always a common topic and a shared experience.

You can get stuff for all that rust by the way:) and have a balanced life always.

My Missis texts every goal and sends a brief report at half time and full time to our kids every game including tonight. That's family and it doesn't have to be one or the other. Mind you bringing them up Blades has to be questionable in truth. Life of Misery, but gives them backbone!!:D

It is good to take your kids, my 6yr old football mad son has been to Wembley an plenty of games he's a Utd fan, but you know what he doesn't want to go an watch them because "dad there rubbish an boring" that's a 6yr old who has realised it.. So why can't clough?? Next season I've promised him if we don't get in the championship once a month we'll go to a premiership game. (Entertainment purposes)

I can understand your frustration but I am determined not to let Nigel Clough, a man who has built an entire career on nepotism, drive me away from my club.

Four of the I.ams at the game tonight. Sang and shouted our hearts out. Sometimes I feel guilty saddling the kids with such a burden but they bear it as stoically as I have for the last 45 years. As they say you have to have the downs to enjoy the ups, and we do get them (occasionally)

Must admit that post was done in haste and through eyes of alcohol and defeat.

I'm neither a clapper nor a slapper. Like all of us I ask for effort and will. I just can't for the life of me gather what happened when we score.

It's not you its me, some day I'll be back I just need a break. Like I say I won't stop loving you but the effort I put into loving you and rub buffing those piggy twats needs to be re focussed.

As alcoblade says the love has indeed waited over the last year or so. Tonight was the proverbial straw. The hotel remains booked just incase but I hold no hope no more.

Who is to blame is for another thread but I say again those first 20 mins prove we have the ability.

There is a time in all Blades lives when you realise that Sheffield United aren't the end all be all of our existance.

We'll always love them, but focus on those who'll love you back.

UTB!

To cheer you up was watching it at home and when we went 1 nil up I cheered and my 13 month old daughter who was sat with me looking puzzled cheered as well and high fived me! :)

Her Leeds supporting mother didn't look too impressed!! :)

We all know you just want to talk about your new kiddie. Take a tip though, don't get pissed as often now you are a father!!! Cut out the swearing and the tribalism too, you're a parent now. Oh and stop wasting our time too!!

My dad became a Blade just before WW2 because he was in the same class as the son of Fred Jessop (who was our player after signing from Derby in 1937), I followed my dad, my son (now 17) followed me. Should we blame Fred Jessop?

Great post Harry but by God is that man trying the patience of our supporters. Presuming the inevitable happens Monday, and Clough is still here next season, are we going to see a total rebuild of the squad or will he persist with the raft of weak ineffective midfielders and players constantly being played out of position. We have all waited for the turning point this season which has never come and most of the players have shown that they are just not good enough to take us up to the next level. Keep Brayford, Bash, Flynny, Murph, McNuts, Done, Reed, Adams, possibly Freeman, and jettison the rest.
