I said this to a pig other day that we'd be 1 of 4 clubs to do it. His response was "oh, that's nice"

I fucking hate pigs.

...I had wings like Noah's dove, I'd fly the river to the one I love

Think about it.

It's something Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea will never achieve because they'll never be shit enough.

Plus, we've only won the Championship once in 40+ attempts which is pretty poor.

Won 4 more fa cups and a league title which buries a lot of clubs
Take out the top 6 and ours is a decent haul and our all time league results record has us as a top 6 team

Why not take out everyone above us?

That's got nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

Bragging that we've won all four divisions is embarrassing.

It's a record most clubs wouldn't want.

I don't think anyone's arguing that it makes us the best. It shows that we've had ups and downs, but have been able to win at every level that we've competed at, which makes us interesting at least. I wouldn't swap our history (even the last twenty years) with, say, Everton.

1 season in div 4 is nothing to be ashamed of . Still one of the most enjoyable seasons I've had.

Winning titles against your peers is what it's about

Man city fair scraped out of league one.
Their fans enjoyed that at the time .
Villa fans enjoyed winning div 3

Wednesday fans had 9 goes at winning it never got top spot

Yeah we might as well get relegated all the way down to the National League North.

We'd have a great time winning another league we've never won.

It would make Manchester United and Liverpool even more jealous of us too.

Sorry BTL but for a club of our size it is something to be ashamed of.

Being a true Man Utd/Liverpool/Man City fan must be great, you get to witness some fantastic players and trophies and success.

However, if you go to their fan channels there's just as many of them complaining as there are of us.

I think experience of success is relative. The fans of the top Prem clubs are miserable when they finish below the top 4 or go a season without a trophy. I'm loving being a Blade right now and we're not that high up in the grand scheme of things.

I think only the fans who experience true lows can really appreciate the highs, that's why I think Leicester fans are some of the luckiest in the country - they got to see their team go from L1 to Prem champs in only a few years, that must've been the most exciting experience ever.

All of this is to say that I don't necessarily denigrate our seasons in the lower divisions. I would never want them if given a choice, and want to get up as soon as possible, but at the same time I can still find things to appreciate about those 'eras', and especially so knowing that it makes the better times even sweeter.

I think the point is, when you win a division, or do well in it, you enjoy it because it's where the club is at the time. You don't want to be there, but you can enjoy the relative success. The pride comes from the club winning the thing it has to win considering where it is. Just because it's a big club, doesn't mean you have a team or means above the division you're in.
You can set it against the shame of the relegation that got you there, and temper it with the acceptance that the club should never have been there in the first place, but it doesn't mean the pride shouldn't exist at all.

A lot of clubs have good times and bad times . 3 of the prem champions since 93 have also been in division 3 since then.
We've had 12 seasons since 1892 outside the top 2 divisions.less than 10p per cent.
A lot of the 92 have spent longer than us there

We as a club have never ever attracted big money in and unfortunately that's what sets your level in a very unevel playing field.
But man Utd fans think theyve been shite for 6 years or more as they have different hopes and expectation. To them those 6 years are similar to ours in league one . Mainly as they spent billions to win nothing

Our record over the last 50 years is poor for a club of our stature.

Every club of similar stature to ourselves has had bigger highs than us in that time, whether it be that one huge day in the sun winning a major trophy, or far more top flight seasons.

Doesn't mean we love the club any less, but trying to pretend otherwise is just revisionary.
