Not much at all to be honest. Although i'd be more relieved at getting out of this shit league, it's not what i'd call a massive accomplishment. We won't have won promotion to the premierleague or qualified for Europe. And sorry to be so glass half empty, but let's face it, without serious investment in the squad we'll be whipping boys in the Championship next season.

Sadly not even half as much as I would have if we had beaten Wednesday to 2nd last season.

:(

Kind of feel the same way. The emotional pounding we took last season with getting beaten to second on the last day of the season by the bastarding pigs and the jailing of Evans was a lot to take. I think I would just be relieved and have a cup of tea.

Then get bladdered beyond belief.

Winning the 3rd division of English football, mmm. About the same as if we'd won the Zenith Data whatmacallit. I'll immediately start worrying about next season.

Last season's miserable ending will be exactly why I will celebrate wildly; wherever and whenever it happens, I'm on the pitch for the first time in my life. Just don't tell my dad; he hates people going on the sacred turf - I reckon he still thinks there's a wicket at Bramall Lane.

Regardless of it 'only' being the Third Division, celebrations will be in order.

We might - might - keep Long and Maguire. We'd actually get mentioned on Ceefax. We'd have huge away followings to boost the crowds (19,000 Wendyites + Forest + TV money last Saturday). Sure beats one coachload and a few seconds on telly after midnight.

The Championship is where we belong, and if I never see the PL at the Lane again, I won't be bothered.

Re. team strengthening, let's get up first. After the last two seasons, we certainly deserve a break.

a little celebration with a tot or two of Admiral Rodney rum, unless the pork are relegated then it might be a full bottle :D

Also if we did win it, I think we join a very small group of clubs to have won all 4 divisions.

I'd go out straight after the game that secures the title and drink so much I can't remember my own name. I've never seen us win anything and if we need to drop down the leagues to actually win something then so be it.

I would celebrate big time. It would be the first league title in my lifetime and would be a signal of us moving back in the right direction. I would be delighted to win this league, it's a hard one to win.

^^^^^ what he said^^^^^

If we win the league, how much will you celebrate?
Quite a lot to be honest, i started watching utd in 89 when i was 7 and since then we have never won anything finished 2nd don't get me wrong and got promoted which was great but to actually win it i'll be delighted. Can't ask for more than winning it.

What if they go down and we go up and overtake them again. Double celebration!
I'd probably turn up on the town hall steps to watch the trophy being held aloft.
I think they should parade the balance sheet as well though just for Raul's benefit ;)

As soon as it's confirmed that we have automatic promotion and have no need of the play-offs, I will cancel my appointment at the Dignitas Clinic.

Now if they go down on the same day as we go up then well i have no idea if i will actually be able to handle the joy.

You're all mental.

This thread is like some masochistic need to get the football gods' attention.

;)

In the same way that a win's a win, a promotion's a promotion. Don't knock 'em because you miss them when they're a long time coming.

Don't know that it will match 1990 when the singing from Dronfield bottom could still be clearly heard in Coal Aston well into the early hours. Can't afford to let it slip by uncelebrated though.

I'll be bitterly disappointed because I predicted we wouldn't go up and I hate being wrong.

Seriously though, if we actually win the League I'll go absolutely loopy, first proper trophy I'll have seen us win and it completes the full set to boot. I'll be in Barcelona towards the end of May for the Primavera festival, carrying on the party whilst watching Nick Cave and Wu Tang Clan. On the other hand the festival could act as a pick me up if we crash and burn in the play-offs again.

If we get back in the championship I will start wondering if we will ever get back in the premiership in my life time.
