Dunc's posts always bring to mind someone putting their fingers in their ears and burbling bla bla bla to avoid hearing someone delivering a home truth.
I understand the situation as well as you do. I choose not to let it get me down. What is the point? We all suspected that this was the position, so now it appears to have been confirmed, nothing to do but get on with it. It doesn't need Quincy to perform an autopsy by 100 threads. We all hoped the club was destined for better things in the Premier League. It was taken away from us, and the dream is lost. Its life. Shit happens. We may get another chance, but for now adjust the expectations and move on.
I am still a supporter of this club, and for me support means that I will stand up for the club and defend it. It is not blind allegience, it is support. The club has always disappointed its supporters, and always will. It makes mistakes, we have poor managers from time to time, we buy useless players, we play crap, we fail when we could have succeeded. Every club is the same.
Like your own children, there are lots of disappointments, but the disappointments are balanced out by moments of sheer pride. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the big difference in this analogy is I am responsible for my children. I am not responsible for my football club and what it does, but I will still support it through thick and thin because I choose to.
So Len, just for my interest, if I am so wrong in my attitude, and you are so right, what have you achieved so far? Is the club listening to you, and acting on your advice? No? No-one who matters at the club cares a fig for your opinions do they, and why should they? They are getting on with running the club, and critics, such as yourself, sit on the sidelines full of reasons why the people who are doing the job are doing it all wrong, but you dont have a solution to offer.
You seem to take delight in feeding the flames when it all goes wrong, seeking to prove what a clever lad you are that you could see it all coming. Always pointing to the next potential disaster, and when on the occasion your prediction comes right (as a percentage must surely), then you preen yourself in a hundred posts in no time flat, taking delight in your 'victory'. All those posts, and you can't find a word of praise when we win or do well. If that makes you happy, then thats great, but please dont ridicule me for thinking differently to you...
