... I want what you're on.

A lot of people are proclaiming to speak for others on here, so I thought it would be good to gauge actual opinion.

In terms of Sheffield United Football Club as of 3rd February 2010, are you happy, apathetic or unhappy?

I think being apathetic is a lot more worrying than being unhappy.

Last night as the 3rd goal went in I did not have one sinking feeling or any anger build up inside me. I just did not give a flying shit. This prompted me to do something I swore I would never do, leave a United match before the end.

Away trips now do not even look like a fun adventure, it's a chore with no pleasure to be had. Even if we win, I seem to care less about it.

I hope this is just a phase.

I couldn't give a monkeys really at the moment. I also left for the first ever time after the third goal. Between the second and third i was just vacantly staring into the void.

I am more annoyed at the moment that I wasted a whole evening than I am at United losing like they did.

On the back of a 3-0 stuffing I would doubt anyone is anything other than unhappy.

I maybe slightly better by Saturday, I always feel like this after a poor result.

I bloody did! I lost a tenner when that 3rd went in!

We were very poor last night. The goals were a shambles, something we've learnt to expect from S6 but everyones entitled to a bad day.

Man U lost 3-0 at Fulham. Does that mean its the end of their season?

But Man U haven't been shit to watch all season and they have the squad (of their own players might I add) to turn it around. It's the manner in which we lose that makes it appear that there's no turnaround on the horizon. The Blades' season so far seems to have gone in the following stages: Play shit and generally lose a lot, play shit and don't lose for a while and now it would appear to have gone full circle back to the play shit and lose category.

If there were glimpses of decent football or something to suggest we could knock it up a gear and create chances or worry the opposition then it'd be ok but we don't have the flair or skill in the squad to do this. Even if we did, we wouldn't use it. The closest we've got is Camara who isn't fit enough to play a full 90 minutes.

I can't believe that last night I was driving to a gig listening to the start of the match on RS.

AND THEN TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT UNTIL I GOT BACK HOME !!!!!!!!!

I've gone from living and breathing THE BLADES to apparently not giving a shit anymore!

I can see where you're coming from here.

Manager with more trophies than Phil "the power" Taylor, Stephen Hendry and Roger Federer between them, held up as an example of attacking adventurous football and going for a fourth consecutive title (or is it third, I frankly don't give a shit), sees his side get beaten 3-0. Can he do anything about it (oh look, there they go and win at The Emirates)?

Or, manager whose won Jack Shit, playing a style, who some (and I won't even claim it's a majority) would describe as "not very pretty", whose team seems incapable of beating anyone in the top reaches of the division, see his side lose 3-0 at Watford. Can he do anything about it? Well who knows . . .

Almost identical situations really!!!!!

I see Dunc has voted.

The results of this poll says it all really... nearly as many people are unconcerned and apathetic as those who are unhappy. Usually I would never miss a match on a saturday but I found myself not wanting to spend my saturday watching united and my student loan on getting there and back anymore thanks to the totally uninspiring performances of late.

Come on les miserables!

Let's get that unhappiness figure up. :(

We can't let those apathetic bastards beat us! [quaere: Where did they find the enthusiasm to vote?]

Not yet I haven't. In fact I can't be bothered taking any part in this 'I'm more pissed off than you' shitstorm competition. I'll be back, in the unlikely event of you all coming to your senses. I'm sorry, I just dont feel I'm enough of a petulant, unrealistic, self important, miserable bastard to play my part fully. I'm far too self-effacing for that.

Anyway. Have fun, but be careful what you wish for, and dont forget to support the club as well as being critical. Criticism, on its own, without some balance, without some scope for redemption is utterly crass and worthless.

Unwards and upwards. UTB. Love and kisses, Dunc...

I'm not as fed up today as I was yesterday.

I'll say I'm not exactly enamoured by the performances I've seen so far, but live in the hope that some "backs against the wall" spirit will prevail over the difficult and busy couple of weeks.

And as ever, come match day, I will be there. Even if I am on my lonesome :D

Didn't go last night, thank goodness, and stuck it out at the Hawtorns just to see if my prediction of us shipping 4 would come true. Based on the quality on show on Saturday I wasn't that surprised at the dabacle last night.

Still wasted 2 hours glumly staring at Sky Sports News watching Beags tell us how crap we were (I'm too tight to spend the money for BladesWorld since I believe I should be able to listen to RS commentary for nowt over the internet. I pay my license fee - just because I don't live in Sheffield anymore - I don't want to listen to bloody Cov & Warwickshire sport).

The only time I did leave a game early was an away trip at Lincoln about 20 years ago where we were beaten 3-0 on that occasion as well and played particularly badly. Left 15 mins before the final whistle. I think it was an FA Cup match but then I haven't got the same recall as Darren.

When even Dunc can't put any sort of positive spin on things and is forced to resort to the very sort of petulance he decries in his email, that's a good sign that there's plenty to be unhappy about...

Sabbatical alert!!!!

Someone needs to start paying Brownie some royalties for this.

There is little appetite for balance and positivity right now Revolution. I seem to have attracted personal criticism for daring to suggest that we should all take a deep breath before throwing ourselves collectively under a bus all for a loan RB going back to his club, (whatever the circumstances). Thats OK, like I say I'll just keep my own council for a little while.

Actually as anyone who actually takes the time to read my views would tell you, rather than just dismissing them as being from the, what was it, "Clapper-in-chief", I think (???), then you might find that I really dont think all is well and haven't for quite a while.

I can see the problems just the same as anyone else, however my natural enthusiasm and optimism can't help but see the brighter side. What I've learned in my life is that very, very few things are really worth working yourself into a frenzy of negativity about. Others can head out on the 'Criticism Highway'. 'Pragmatism Street' is the road to happiness for me, and I firmly believe it is better to welcome a solution than to try to apportion blame, especially in a situation that I don't have any control or real influence over.

Anyway, I will be at BDTBL on Saturday as normal with the little Disorderly's, singing the boys on, and looking forward to a welcome three points to get us back on track. Also looking forward to hearing Trevor Birch give us a few glimpses behind the scenes on RS. I had hoped that he would give us the leadership that we've been missing since dear Derek Dooley passed, but Trevs opening statements are quite a long way overdue...

Trev's busy dealing with property debt Dunc - not done owt football related yet, in my opinion.

Can't you see any merit in the argument that the Walker fiasco was the straw that broke the camal's back for many?

I can recall one post from you a while ago mildly criticising Blackwell, then quite alot of petty abuse of me, Oliie etc. That's about it really.

Dunc's posts always bring to mind someone putting their fingers in their ears and burbling bla bla bla to avoid hearing someone delivering a home truth.

For such a poll, it is all about timing. If you would have asked the same question just after new signings had been announced and before the Watford game had begun. Then probably you would have seen majority happy and a few unhappy ones.

Of course losing to a statistically weaker side .. by a lot, seeing Walker walk and Morgan grabbing an injury will cause some unhappiness, escalating some fears about our playing-style, player selection and tactical immaturity of certain K.B.

its also all about timing - for me to find the poll after it has been closed already :P

You'll not be on your own before the match. I'm in the "fuck the football, let's have fun before the game regardless" camp. Worrying endlessly about the team is pointless, the same old cack will be served up anyway. At least we can keep our high standards of pre-match bobbins up.

I understand the situation as well as you do. I choose not to let it get me down. What is the point? We all suspected that this was the position, so now it appears to have been confirmed, nothing to do but get on with it. It doesn't need Quincy to perform an autopsy by 100 threads. We all hoped the club was destined for better things in the Premier League. It was taken away from us, and the dream is lost. Its life. Shit happens. We may get another chance, but for now adjust the expectations and move on.

I am still a supporter of this club, and for me support means that I will stand up for the club and defend it. It is not blind allegience, it is support. The club has always disappointed its supporters, and always will. It makes mistakes, we have poor managers from time to time, we buy useless players, we play crap, we fail when we could have succeeded. Every club is the same.

Like your own children, there are lots of disappointments, but the disappointments are balanced out by moments of sheer pride. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the big difference in this analogy is I am responsible for my children. I am not responsible for my football club and what it does, but I will still support it through thick and thin because I choose to.

So Len, just for my interest, if I am so wrong in my attitude, and you are so right, what have you achieved so far? Is the club listening to you, and acting on your advice? No? No-one who matters at the club cares a fig for your opinions do they, and why should they? They are getting on with running the club, and critics, such as yourself, sit on the sidelines full of reasons why the people who are doing the job are doing it all wrong, but you dont have a solution to offer.

You seem to take delight in feeding the flames when it all goes wrong, seeking to prove what a clever lad you are that you could see it all coming. Always pointing to the next potential disaster, and when on the occasion your prediction comes right (as a percentage must surely), then you preen yourself in a hundred posts in no time flat, taking delight in your 'victory'. All those posts, and you can't find a word of praise when we win or do well. If that makes you happy, then thats great, but please dont ridicule me for thinking differently to you...
