Great let them think they are already in the final, it didn't do the pigs any harm to think they had an easy route straight to the semi's did it.
btw I like Hull only a tad more than the pigs ........................... decent team but the fans are a set of inbreds.

Sunderland gifted them 3 goals today.

It ain't going to be a walk in the park for them. Heard that Cloughey stated something like, "We're not going just for a day out. If you want to do that you go to the seaside, not when you go to Wembley"

That's the right sort of talk.
He has it spot on.
Who knows what might happen. They may choke, they may be overconfident. We certainly have nothing to fear.

To be fair if we were a prem team and had avoided as it was when the draw was made arsenal and man city and drawn a league one club we probably would get a bit giddy

the fact that league one club has an illustrious cup pedigree and a far better head to head record over Hull is by the way

I trust we will get the hull that lost 1-4 to Newcastle

More importantly, they'll get a vibrant, motivated, organised, skilful SUFC, playing to a standard way above our status, backed by proper fans not needing silly orange rattles.

Let's not be arrogant, but we have every right to be confident in our team.

I'm more pissed off with the media that keep calling it a Yorkshire derby. I don't blame Hull for celebrating, but the day they are in Yorkshire, I'm a pig fan.

These boundary changes!!. Difficult to keep up, especially when you don't give a flying.. According to the Commissars, Hull most certainly is/has been in Yorkshire. It depends when and where you studied Geography. Hull, yorkshire yes. Middlesborough, Yorkshire Yes Blades SHEFFIELD yes. They only shifted boundaries so that Yorkshire wouldn't be the largest county. And to think that once I had to start with Rutland and name the counties in ascending order.

What a misspent youth, only off set by the fact that I attempted to imbibe in all the counties without getting my collar felt.

I don't think Hull City will be taking the match lightly. Obviously Hull City will be favourites but I don't imagine there has ever been an easy FA Cup semi final .... any team that gets that far has to be respected regardless of which division they're in. I think drawing Sheffield United was popular since we haven't played you for quite some time (if I remember rightly, last time we played you it was in the cup and even though we won it was close). I think an FA Cup semi final and a Yorkshire derby rolled into one has as much appeal for some City fans as the final itself, should Hull City get there .... I just resent the fact we all have to go down to London ..... I'm sick of the UK being governed as if London is the centre of the universe ... it doesn't do the provinces any good. Well done beating Charlton. I'm really looking forward to this match and I hope we can all have a pint as pals afterwards! I know they say never bet against your own team .... I WILL have a flutter on Hull City to win of course but I'll have a quid on you lot to turn us over. The magic of the cup isn't lost. Frankly, apart from about 5 teams in the Premier League, on any given day, the team that wants it the most CAN win ... I won't say WILL win but I'm not expecting you lot to let us waltz off with a place in the final. This will be a brilliant, blood and guts Yorkshire Derby ... the kind of thing some long in the tooth City fans miss .... the Premier League is great, don't get me wrong but you get used to anything ..... eating caviar all day would soon have you desperate for fish and chips .... good luck to you.

I hope this Hull fan takes this the wrong way.
1. Yes you will be favourites as were Villa, (above you in the league and at their ground not neutral)
Fulham, Forest (hadn't lost in 16 games until they met the mighty Blades) and Charlton. But what good did it do them? We have only let 1 goal in in the last 9 games (against Forest) and you won't be able to play your two newly acquired strikers as they are cup tied. That answers your next question regards respect also.
2. Talking of respect I do not respect Hull Tigers at all. They have simply got to be the luckiest team in history. Nearly go out of business due to crap crowds and having to walk around with blankets just to survive (nothing against this by the way I used to respect Hull at this point and felt sorry for them for having David Lloyd involved) but to then, because of some historic anomaly, when they we were separate from the rest of Britain but still claiming to be in Yorkshire, had white phone boxes instead of joining in with the rest of the country, got a free stadium. Hence the plastic fans arrive. You say some long in the tooth fans miss the Derbies. It was never a Derby your in and out of Yorkshire so often I bet the majority of East Hull don't know whether they are in or out now. I never considered it a Derby and I had the Mis-fortune of having to live in Hull at the time Keith Edwards saw the light and came back. There can't be that many long in the tooth fans left you only had a maximum of 4,000 on a good day at Boothferry. All the plastics you have now can't even remember then. Then you make such a cock up of your finances despite the free stadium that you are weeks if not days from going out of business when Haslam steps in. Wendy were slightly more lucky than you regarding how they were about to go to the wall, however Hull have been unbelievably lucky twice now, so I don't respect Hull or any club like MK Dons that has a football team plonked in their city. If it was built up over years of community then fair enough but Hull's was not as they would still be on 4,000 crowds if it wasn't for the free MFI KFC stadium. Have you walked from the Changing room to the pitch its like the walk on Spinal Tap where they can't find the stage.
3. I think its fantastic that it is at Wembley. A great occasion in a phenomenal stadium and I'm looking forward to going without worrying whether we win or lose. We are expected to lose so we have nothing to lose. I will just enjoy the day. Hull however will think they are there as a warm up for the real thing (and they are probably right) which is why you resent going there for a semi. But there is a pressure on Hull Tigers could they be the first team in History to be beaten by a team from the third tier in an FA Cup Semi. That will then always come up year after year and in pub quizzes for time and memorial. Enjoy the day.

Let's not be arrogant, but we have every right to be confident in our team.

Same attitude as with all the cup games from the players and we'll give a great account of ourselves. Of that I'm sure.

One thing which seems to be a pattern from all the sides we've beaten is that they've used the phrase "we just didn't turn up". Whether it's some sort of embarrassment of losing it a lower league side or some other reason, it's no coincidence. We've been the better side in all our cup wins and it's not just that the opposition didn't turn up.

Hull is probably the best chance we have of getting to the final, but we can't be complacent or even believe that we just have to turn up to win. Hull will be the toughest game we've had. But I'm confident that we've got better and better since wins at Cambridge, Villa or Forest...

We've got a great chance, steer clear of injuries and suspensions and we'll have a great chance

Agreed Swiss. But its not just the Cup teams that have said "they didn't turn up" its been the league teams as well. I can't work out how we do it tactically (probably a good thing) but we seem to stop teams from playing. Chris Powell talked about they couldn't get a flow or pattern going, I'm sure Charlton would have wanted a trip to Wembley so it wasn't their lack of desire. Also because we are league 1 there is an assumption that we must be poor in relation. I've met another bloody Hull fan this morning who thinks that it's two trips to Wembley as though we are a bye to the final.

Yeah I focused on the cup because I think initially that's where our belief, organisation and confidence started and I guess that's where the opposition were consistently saying the same thing, not that we were just the better side.

Tactics yesterday were tight at the back, but we attacked more freely than against Fulham and also Forest. Not sure if that's the approach to use v Hull. Bruce is a smart manager, more experienced than Powell, Lambert and the Fulham manager. Only Davies was more experienced but he's not that smart.

One thing that could play into our hands is that hull will fancy their chances and want to attack us, this gives us the chance to hit them on the counter. The downside to this is that Hull have goals in them. Doyle, Harris, Brayford, Harry, Collins and Howard will have their work cut out!

Even after yesterday's results, I'd still rather play Hull than Wigan.

Wigan are flying, and Hull have to play a mismatch team due to their first choice strikers both being cup-tied. If ever we had a better chance of getting to the final, this is it. No expectations, but that's the fact. The best draw for both sides.

With their cup tied players, i'd say Hull Tigers are comparable to a top Championship side and, after our Jan business, we're comparable to a lower Championship side.

As they say, anyone can beat anyone in the Championship.......

Lots to think about in this article.

The point about us having nothing to fear is valid because that's the way we've gone into all the Cup games, and as previously mentioned, almost every team has come up with the "we didn't turn up" excuse.

There's another article about new songs and chants - we don't need one.

"We're the famous Sheff United, and we're shit at Wemberley" will do just fine - it suits the mood of everyone, and will suit the occasion in May.

The power of psychology. This is clearly bullsh*t, but you've somehow managed to convince me that they're in the same league as us!

i reckon the cheering was because they had avoided Arsenal and (potentially) Citeh.. just like us really.. Arsenal will bottle it.. the team to avoid atm is Wigan
