Abraham would be a season loan, imho. He's no where near Chelsea's first team and to maximise his value he needs to have a season scoring prem league goals. Chelsea tried that with the Bristol City loan, followed by the Swansea loan and it didn't work out. They've taken a step back with Villa, and next year they'll surely look to loan him out to a prem team. He is quality, but he needs to take baby steps. If Fulham would've survived, I could've seen him going there or even Palace.

Same situation with Hendo, Man Utd would need him to have played a season in prem before making a decision whether to stick or twist. So that'd be two of the loans.

Drinkwater or that type of player, the possible 3rd loan. I think if we went up, we'd need a destroyer/mobile & aggressive water carrier in the middle of the park with top level experience, on big wages of which we'd pay a modest %.

Just checked. It's a maximum of 4 in total, two can be from prem to prem loans, but only one from a specific club. So it could be Hendo & Tammy.

Referring to m'lud's original question, i'd like to retort with one of my own, it's been on my mind a lot lately.

Please forgive if it should seem banal.

As we would be on the MOTD series every Saturday evening and midweek too, televised globally via various sports channels, would it be wise to obtain the services of a high end fashion designer to take our stripes to an international/worldwide level where the catwalks of the world are adorned with our style? He/She would also be given a ''blank canvas'' to design not only the second/third ensemble, but also that of the matchday squad and management?

We certainly don't want to be confused with any other club wearing red and/or stripes, so it's the utmost responsibility for someone to fashion something truly magnificent, nay, spectacular when we walk out at Anfield, Old Trafford, The Emirates, perhaps The Vitality Stadium too.

This has been playing on my mind now for quite a while, has it yours?

I just hope that promotion will force the ownership issue to a conclusion. I've a feeling it will.

It's not been ideal, but it's been manageable, for the two squabbling owners to continue to run the club in this fashion, at this level. And they must both be pleased with the way it's shaping up. There hasn't been much investment in the playing squad but despite that they both stand to reap the benefits of seeing their Championship asset turn into a Premiership one very soon. But promotion to the Premiership changes everything. If we are to become a Premiership football club it brings about a whole different set of financial considerations.

They cannot continue to act like a separated couple seeking a divorce. It doesn't seem likely they will kiss and make up anytime soon, so the divorce needs to be completed as early as possible following the end of this season. Maybe they'll put the house on the market altogether and take a split of the proceedings and both disappear off into the sunset. Then again, maybe the financial battle will intensify knowing that their investment and future potential has grown out of all proportion since they split the club 50/50 back in League 1.

McCabe has wanted out for years and I don't think promotion to the Premiership changes that. If anything, it's more likely that he will see this as "mission accomplished" and want to get out in summer knowing that he got the club back to the level of football it might have remained at for longer, if he'd personally managed affairs a bit more shrewdly. The stage will be set perfectly for his final swansong and he'll know that. I doubt he would be foolish enough to hang around for much longer and take the can again if things don't work out beyond that. And...it may be easier now to pay him off, because any outstanding debts to him should be covered by a much greater set of revenues in the Prem next season.

The Prince however is more of an unknown quantity. We do not know what his agenda is, or that of his carefully assembled financially savvy entourage. We should expect that he's only in it for the money, first and foremost, and considerations for the traditions of the club and feelings of the fans will be secondary. At least this has been the case elsewhere with some (not all) foreign takeovers. If it's better than that it will be a huge bonus of course.

My thoughts are that both will agree to sell to an as yet, unknown 3rd party. Both will get their money back and more - and both will claim a moral victory in getting United back to the Premiership level of football that most believe is our true place in the football world.

What happens after that though is a complete mystery and the only thing for certain is that there will be no shortage of interest from investors, at home but perhaps even more likely from abroad, who would like a Premiership club with good support, good players and a good manager, and plenty of capacity to develop the stadium further.

Absoloutely agree, though I would add the word "potential" before "Premier League quality" players, as proven premier league quality players rarely go to a newly promoted side, as pointed out.
