If we get a draw or a narrow defeat at Spurs...

Im not a big fan of this cup , and hold it in very low esteem , but the winning of it will shut up the pigges , ooh we have won something for ever so it has its benifits, dont want europa though , cant think of anything worse than playing KR Rejkavic or Jeunesse Esch and trying to justify getting giddy about it

you only have to beat a couple of KR Reykjaviks before you're playing Inter Milan

you only get to play inter milan if theyve had a shit year or theyve been knocked out the cl so youd have to still be in after xmas

well if we could guarentee going far it gets interesting , but going on hulls "adventures" in europe they added 6 / 7 extra bodies to cope with extra games, including young harry and suddenly found themselves out before the league cup re started, and to be fair you can travel independantly across europe and discover more without having to waste 3/5 hours going to a 0-0 stalemate in dubrovnic,

Ive heard the porkers point scoring attempts of weve been in europe but an evening in the spora stadium in Luxemborg ranks alongside playing Inverness ct in a pre season friendly

Feel free to boycott it then....

Might be worth pointing out that we don't qualify for the Europa league for winning/getting to the final of the League Cup, that rule only applies for the FA Cup

Hang on. Its my life's ambition to see United play in Europe, Jeuness Esch would do just fine to start with............
Dubrovnik Papergirls Under 21 B team would do me. I am beginning to think that the only time we'll be in Europe is if we invade.....

If we get into Europe then there's only one side I'd like us to face and that is Dukla Prague.

Some mates of mine support South Barnsley and when they played in Europe they played the European giants Spora Luxembourg. Hardly a glamour tie but they went and had loads of similar stories to yours Raul. Including going in a bar that resembled someones house (might have been) and great times with the locals.

My boss at the time went to that game with his mates. Being a lairy cunt, he accelerated out of a petrol station in Luxembourg so quick, he blew his Jag up. Cue a call from my manager. 'Where are you?) ME: 'Carlisle.' HIM: 'oh, can you nip down to Dover and pick them up.' It was a great trip back, stopping at numerous boozers in backwacks of Leicestershire etc. and, when I finally dropped them off, my boss gave me £150. (lot of money in them days. Enough to buy a 3-bed semi etc.)

Here's a thought. Spurs are facing a massive fixture pile up. As they're one of those delusional teams who like to kid the fans that they can seriously break into the 'top four' (they can't), they may well field a 'weak' side in the first leg and, if necessary field all the big names in the second leg to pull round United's magnificent first-leg win/draw.

If we get a draw or a narrow defeat at Spurs ... we won't

Ah the old 'Spurs fans are deluded' chestnut rears its ugly head.

Still, lovely win today to take us into 6th. I think we appear to be fitter than most teams which is getting us lots of points.

All about the Blades.... Might have to make up a chant to that to the Megan Traynor tune.......

if were still in it after 1st leg then it will be rammed, and we have every chance of winning, should be one of best nights in recent years, cue pitch invasion !

To be fair, I don't think any of us is seriously expecting us to win it over two legs. A single game at Bramall Lane and it might be do-able, but 99 times out of 100 you'll wipe the floor with us over 180 mins.

I think you've been an excellent rival supporter on this board, so don't rise to the baiting of single posters opinions. We would happily swap league positions in a heartbeat!

Cheers. I try to be sensible on other teams forums on the odd occasion i pay then a visit. I am an uninvited guest afterall.

Spurs fans get that 'deluded' thing so often though it gets a bit wearing, i am sure it is mostly from fans that have never met a Spur though, Most of us are acutely aware of our position in the big scheme of things.

I know a good few Spurs fans and they're all fucking deluded, but not about Spurs or football. :D

Beer and food on the other hand...

We would qualify for Europe if we win it but not if we lost in the final:-

http://www.capitalonecup.co.uk/competition/about-the-competition/

"The competition culminates in a final at Wembley Stadium each February, with the winner qualifying for the subsequent season’s UEFA Europa League".

Somebody has been down this morning for a ticket for our home leg and he said the south stand has sold out,the kop has only a few seats together on the wings with the John Street having quite a few tickets left.It will almost definately be a sell out now and so it should be at them prices.

When I lived down south I remember going round to visit a Spurs mate to watch them play Man City in a cup match with a few others. They were 2-0 up at half time and City were down to 10 men, but the Spurs fans all thought they'd still got a very real chance of losing, and so they did 2-3. Spurs fans I know are very aware of their ability to balls things up. A reason I wanted them in the draw ;)
