or any other quality player at BDTBL contemplating leaving ..........

I wud tell em .............. show sum ambition or i'm off !

Cud the lack of ambition be the problem in attracting quality players to BDTBL ?

Nothing to do with ambition, and more to do with the £££ being offered elsewhere.

Offer anyone double their salary to do the same job and most people will go the same way...

beightonblade... if you were Killa, I'd tell you that you looked bloody ridiculous with bleached blond hair :D

I can see the club are in a difficult position. Fans want to keep the players, no matter what. The players seem to want more money, no matter what. The club wants to spend as little money as possible, no matter what.

Give one player more money, and all the rest will want a raise too.

I don't feel there is a lack of ambition.

Yes, United and McCabe in particular always at every tip and turn state that the club has ambition.
That's nothing new, so does every other club...have ambitions....within their limits.
And that is the problem, United always have limits and problems holding their nerve. The biggest limitation that they have, and this goes back several decades is that they cannot pick a manager to save their lives. Every manager is seen as a cheap option because in the main that's what they are. Not pinched from another club who didn't want to lose them, but generally already out of work. There's a clue there...out of work.
We are not bold enough in our managerial choices, and never have been.
But you can't blame the managers, but the hierarchy which recruits them.

we have the ambition we just dont have the Motivation.. impetus..dedication
Commitment.. perseverance Determination.. resolve..Bravery.. guts or courage to do any thing about it.
instead were stuck with the safe option of cheap as chips blackwell and his safe style kick it up field football with his safe transfer's / loans dont push the boat out.

its not ambition what we really need is some new BALLS.

What exactly would you like to board to do in order to demonstrate to you that they have ambition?

But who would sell the burgers then??

Killa has made it very clear he's off regardless I hear - I don't think any amount of cash or 'shows of ambition' will keep him. He's wanted to go since the end of last season. Get what we can and move on? Or make him stay and hope for promotion...and possibly still lose him in the summer?

Be interesting to see what we do get if / when he goes when players like Collins at West Sham are valued at £5m???

How about win a player that we want (lita)
or not sell our star players
put there money where there mouth is
Get a better manager preff one that’s in a club now that’s playing good football.
Buy a top striker from this league not lower leagues.

cheap as chips was the wrong appointment !

after f1oppo a raving lunatic cud have raised moral and performances at BDTBL, the crunch game away to Southampton told me i was reight about Blackwell ...... how we ever finished 3rd last season is a mystery to me and many Blades.

I hope i'm wrong but i think Blackwell is as big a mistake as f10pp0 was.

Totally agree

Blackwell is a half decent number 2, and a bad number 1
Playground bully with no respect and nothing to back up his cocksure attitude - IMO. Just can't imagine players wanting to play for him or come to us, as a club, with him at the helm.

McCabe has made two big mistakes - Robbo (who I thought at the time could've been a good thing for us - obviously wrong), and then Blackwell.

Enjoyed that - totally agree. Also previous post about terrible selection of managers - especially Robson and now Blackwell in my opinion at a time when we actually had the cash to walk the second tier in either season after relegation.

We are now relying in next few years on a manager building a squad and doing what Owen Coyle for example has done. KB has had to live with some cost-cutting (but is McCabe's yes man so no quibbling etc) but shows no sign in building a team capable of winning promotion in my opinion.

I always think it is dangerous to have a manager where the job he is in is clearly the best he will ever get. OK some managers may use clubs as stepping stones but at least their hunger may lead to success.

Now I dislike Blackwell with the best of them, but I can't agree that he is a 'big' mistake.

I wouldn't have brought him in in the first place - as at that time there were some good managers available to choose from. However he did give us that stability and a bit of hope and we looked a decent side.

However the next season the true Blackwell came out and we saw defensive and negative performances and long ball 'tactics' - much to what Leeds fans warned us about.

However he hasn't been a 'big' mistake - as he has had relative success at what he produces. Just not what I like to see, it's not entertainment and I am not entertained.

Well its clear to me the Blades will be the best club Blackwell ever has.

He cudn't manage Beighton Magpies !

Top post Dog Blade.

100% spot on for me.

There are plenty of upcoming managers in work at the time who we could have afforded. I'm not entirely sure McCabe was happy with appointing Blackwell but felt he had no option after the decent job he did post-Robson but the point is - any manager in teh country could have won games in CCC with the squad we had.

The reason Blackwell was signed ?

Easy McCabe had a look round and saw the cheap as chips option.

Right, so one game where if we'd won we still wouldn't have made the play-offs as it transpired against a team fighting for their lives tells you more about Blackwell (who was only 15 games or so into his tenure at the time) than his first full season in charge where he had the star striker sold from under him and finished 5th.

Can't compete with that kind of logic.

Sometimes though people get too money motivated.....Think about this, Killa has first team action near enough every game. He could move for more money and end up like Naughton, now in the short run, it's good money....but the more you appear is the time other clubs think aye aye, what we got ere like. The less appearences you make, the more of a detremental effect it has on your career.

For me I chose less money for more attention. This in the long run makes you more money. Now I make the money I think I deserve, because I held out and didn't become a face IN the crowd, I stand out from the crowd.

I'm not a Killa fan, but I would prefer he stayed than bugger off for heaps more cash. He's got potential to be very very good.

So appearances or money.....hmmm know which way I'd go everytime :)

If I were Killa.......

I'd drive a car that had a little more class than an Overfinch-tweaked white Range Rover Sport. All that says about you is "I'm too poor or too tight to buy a proper Range Rover." And certainly not a white one.

I'm not sure that Ian Porterfield and Bryan Robson were cheap!
