If I was one of our rivals

Love that blades fans summed up in the first 2 posts
How exactly? The thread is titled ‘If I was one of our rivals’. My comment was based on that title.
When we are pressed high and particularly when Norwood is closed down, we are much less effective. Also we are very susceptible to high balls into the box.

How does that comment on a hypothetical thread sum up Blades fans? Maybe in the fact that some of us are actually knowledgeable about football ?

It’s not that deep mate, just that the op takes a we can do it view, you had a why might we not do it view, he’s right, your right, no need to get superior

It wasn’t a ‘why we might not do it’ post. It was a ‘if I were a rival’ post. Nowt superior about it.
Im as optimistic and positive as they come.

“some of us are actually knowledgeable about football” was a bit superior though wasn’t it?

We are all brothers and sisters, we fall out, but we’re still blades, we haven’t had a season that polarises this much for a while but we all want the same thing

The intent was more defensive than superior. I suppose I shouldn't get mardy with forum comments but there’s often a sweeping and lazy generalisation spouted at people who are seen as negative or conversely a ‘happy clapper’ just by giving an opinion.
I can be a smart arse at the best of times but not intended on this occasion.

No problem mate see you at Wembley 😉

BTW your icon is my favourite player ever.

On watching tonight, especially 2nd half I’d be thinking

Ffs - hope we don’t play them

Well done utd / Hecky

On we go
Back on track, yes deffo. Hope we keep the swagger going, it is currently the missing piece in getting more results like this.

Saturday needs the players like that, and the fans at their best.

Exactly.

The tempo we had in that 2nd half would have battered most teams in this division.

QPR were a team of kids, reserves and shit players. They were there for a battering and we battered them. Fulham are a team blessed with skill, pace and quality and we will have to play with the intensity of last night's second half for 90 mins if we are to get anything out of the game. Fulham on the beach/flip flops I don't think so.

2 more wins over the 46 , qpr would be pushing for playoff position.
If we play like we did 2nd half, we have a good shot of beating the runaway champions, yes.

Our worst kept secret is what a Jekyll and Hyde team we are. Sometimes we’re truly brilliant, but every team in this league knows how profligate we are in front of goal and that we’ve always got one silly mistake in us. . So no, teams will always fancy their chances against this current team.

A stat last night said that out of the top 17 in the division, we'd only beaten Fulham away from home. (Until last night's result).

So if I was one of our rivals..... Not overly concerned about that leg of the play-offs.
True , however statistics can be misleading as we haven't Lost away to any of the current 3 teams in the play offs and have only conceded 1 goal in the 3 away games played

The problem is Forest and Huddersfield are not QPR , and are really good footballing sides , and our form of late hasn’t been great and then the injures and no strikers !!!
But hey make to the play offs and owt could happen.

Looking at those stats I have a question for the statisticians amongst us....have we ever had 28 shots in a league game previously? That is a ridiculous amount of shots and sums up our dominance

Agree on Forest but Huddersfield weren't anything special. As it's looking, beat Forest🤞, I would fancy either Luton or Huddersfield at Wembley. Tough; but doable .
But first we have to get there.

Yes and qpr didnt really press Norwood, didnt have 2 massive central defenders, had a rooky keeper and were about as good as us in defending high balls into the box!

Are you related to Frank Large?

I get the point that when we are pressed we are less effective, but we are at our best when we press high too, so how does that play out?
At the end of the day, I do think that if MGW, Berge and (hopefully fit) Billy are on it, then I don't see any defence in the league coping with us.

In any case this is all academic unless we get into the playoffs, so let's worry about next week first of all...incidentally I doubt Fulham will be pressing too hard by the time they play us, but let's see anyway.
