If Berge isnt sold...

Don't think it's as simple as wanting or not wanting a player to be sold.

I think the significant factor is the price.
Since the World Cup Berge has played like a £10 million to £15 million midfielder.
If another club offers that amount, we may as well keep him.

However if any club offers £20 to £25 million and we can bring in replacements as good.
Then surely business is business and selling him for that price and bringing in more effective replacements would be a fantastic deal.

I do think Berge is more suited to the Premier League than the Championship, so he could still be an asset next season.
He is clearly talented and capable of being a £30 million player, probably explains why he can still attract PL interest.
Yes i agree i think he is more suited to the prem but it will be interesting to know what the board have got in mind in solving the financial problem. It would be mighty hard being in the prem with our hands tied behind our backs unable to improve the squad . I dont want him to go but I think solving our cash flow problems should come first ,We could suffer for a long time if it is not sorted. Also if we have a long term ban on signings i wonder how new owners will view it .Would it put them off buying the club? Will they think twice about going ahead with the deal? knowing they can not invest in the team could make them think again . Having payed a deposit I hope not but will they think the prince might not have been up front with them .

Get promotion (the most important thing this season) and the debts should look after themselves. I think with the board not selling Sander, apparently, they have realised this. Hope him and Illiman stay and shine in the Premiership.
I hope you are right mate i really do but it worries me if we are unable to improve the squad for the next two or three windows . We have an ageing squad and many contracts are coming to an end .I understand that we can not offer our EXISTING squad a new contract without the leagues blessing .Could be really tough living in the prem with our hands tied mate. What has come out of this mess is that both players seem really happy staying which speaks volumes about them .What a change Footballers not chasing big bucks . If we do get to the prem and get the big money payout I am not sure if by paying the debt it shortens the embargo ,hope is does.

The EFL will give dispensation due the club's ownership changing. The club won't be constrained in future windows

Once the new buyer is sorted....they'll be a new board and no money problems.
The transfer is expected to go through in 4 to 6 weeks, so we'll have plenty of money next season in the PL.
You might even find the new owner does a Nottingham Forest, gets excited and splashes the cash (in the early days).

Regards the current embargo you would think the old and new owners would just need to clarify with the EFL what it actually means.
Apparently we can't buy any players this window, but if we don't plan to buy players, then that doesn't affect us. Still not sure what the position is regards bringing in loans. Apparently the debt with the EFP needs to be cleared within 1 month otherwise there's is a 2 window transfer window ban. So any semi competent owner just needs to confirm with the EFL what the deadline date is.....then they make sure funds are in place to pay the debt shortly before the deadline, quite simple really.
The new owner clearly has funds, otherwise he wouldn't have spent millions buying a football that needs money spending on players, the stadium and training ground.

There's nothing that can put off the buyer because it's already been legally agreed, the club has been sold subject to the EFL owners check.
Think Blades have this tendency to be negative and assume the worse, based on the distant past don't blame them.

Both staying, great news, fantastic backing by HRH again.

Don't think it is, it's just basic common sense.

We are just about to acquire new owners, so in reality there's zero pressure to sell anyone.
We have set a value on our players and if someone matches that value, then it's considered but we need to ensure we have adequate replacements line up to come in.
If a club offered well above our valuation, say 30 mill for Berge and 50m mil for N'Diaye then surely both would be sold
but we would still need to bring in similar or better replacements as nothing is allowed to damage our chances of promotion.

I think he'll be absolutely unplayable in the second half of the season.
Don’t think Hecky will have a choice, he’ll be told by the board he has too play him

He's been playing through his ankle problem after being being rushed back but is apparently improving. Despite this look at the Blades results when he plays vs when he doesn't ;) .
I did it the premier league - they were awful when he played. 😂

But seriously, let’s hope he can recover his early season form.

Think you are spot on regarding players chasing big bucks. Always thought there are two types of footballer. Those that are in it for the money and those that want to play football.
Ndiaye wants to play, to the point that he sulks a bit when he doesn't start.
Perhaps we should put Berge in the same bracket, he didn't like the idea of warming the bench at Newcastle even though for loads more money.
If that's the case full credit to him and us fans need to support him to ensure he helps us to promotion.
