... for the fans to buy out McCabe and take control of our club.

Once bought nominate a leader, who sets up a board.

Give the fans a voice, take back the club and get out this sodding league.

As the thread maker of the "One armed fan" said it's not bad luck, it's bad choices, let's end them, surely the fans know what's best for the club?

It's obviously not gonna get fixed by changing the manager, we tried every option under the sun, time to change the structure of the club.

Charles Clegg is probably rolling in his grave seeing what is going on, it's only getting worse.

It's time people, check the back of the sofa for money and take your club back.

Lovely idea but for a multitude of reasons; would never work.

As fans, we'd have to cover the deficit every year that currently falls at the feet of McCabe & HRH. Can't see many blades lining up to cover their share of several million pounds every year.

How much are you willing to put in?

If the fans knew what was best for the club then every successful club would be run by them.

Protip: fans know fuck all about running a football club.

What you on abart? McCabe and the prince take out millions every year, straight into their back pockets, property developments, brussells, etc etc etc

Lovely idea in an ideal world. But we don't live in that world, we don't even live in a comparable world with other football clubs. We have a lot of stupid fans that make a lot of noise but don't have a clue either about business or football.

Tell me again what the McCabe-Prince are:
- currently doing wrong,
- what they've done wrong since 2013 (when the prince came in)
- what you would do to make things better

I would only buy into this scheme to ensure that i had a say against the countless stupid people that think they can do a better job.

What makes you think that a cooperative would be better?

Or to flip those questions on the head

What they've done right since the Prince came in?

Can things get worse?

Things can always get better or worse. I wrote on another thread yesterday a summary of what i think they've done.

"Game...wibble...changing...wobble...investment...wibble"

I think now, from an ownership point of view we're not in a bad place, managerial, i think we've got the right man for right now. On the pitch, we've a long way to go, but i think it will improve.

I think most blades put in a bigger chunk of their personal income each year than than the prince and King kev. Yes it isn't millions but still as a % of 'wealth' and earnings I dare guess it would rival what they're putting in if not exceed it.

I'm not saying they don't, I'm simply saying why us buying the club is unrealistic.
Your post to me confirms this, if we all already put in a fair percentage of our wealth, who'd volunteer to give more? I know I wouldn't!

And whats the relevance of that?

Unless Sean Bean and a few other very wealthy fans fancy getting on board, it could never happen. Also, I disagree that the fans know what's best for the club. Many of McCabe's failings have been a result of listening to the most vociferous, fickle, knee-jerk supporters amongst us. It needs somebody more measured who actually has some clue as to how to run a football club.

So if anyone has got a spare £60m knocking about just contact IMA.

Some people seem Lord McCabe for putting up stacks of cash and feel for him for losing money. We're the ones who are putting the bigger sacrifices in year in year out. If it wasn't McCabe it would be someone else, he isn't doing anything different to any other owner other than being worse in terms of success. We're in a far worse position now than when he took over. The fans buying out isn't the answer and I've gone off topic slightly as you point out but he should be looking to offload the the club to someone who can take this club forward even if it means cutting his losses, would he sell his entire share including assets for a £1 to someone who has proven to take clubs forward? Does he really have the clubs best interest at heart when looking for a buyer?

Ok so is it just about money or is it about what he is doing for the club?

I can guarantee that he puts more of his time % wise into the club than we do. We spend 90 mins x 46 league games a season (9 months). He probably spends that time on United in a month. His sons also work at the club.

I think you also miss the point of the GBP 1 purchase that the prince paid for a 50% share of the club. The GBP 1 payment will have been made on the provision that he also paid money into the club, making the 50% share worth less allows investment to go elsewhere.

As for McCabe selling his 50% for GBP 1, he would be absolutely stupid to do this.

Yes, I think he has the best interests of the club at heart. He’s haemorrhaged money into the club over the years, yes I’m sure that has come with some balancing but he’s done it for the right reasons, in his view at that time. Why would he then look for a buyer that doesn’t want to carry on things in the right way

It should not require a massive "game changing investment" to get out of this League. Burton got back to back promotions on a shoestring primarily because they had a great manager who got the best out of his players (based on excellent foundations laid by Nigel Clough). They also tend to pick good managers who do well and go on to bigger clubs rather than sack them every year.

HRH paid £1 for a share in a dormant company with no assets (BL) until the SUFC shares were transferred in by way of capitalising McCabes loans which were written down into a share premium account From £37m to £10m. The Prince then put in £10 million cash for shares to match it. and they both stumped up £4m each last season.

I can put £1k in.,that would pay 1day of woolfords wage:confused:

Do you honestly think that if Sheffield United had that exact set of players, management and coaching staff, tea lady, kit man and everything, that they'd/we'd have gone up? Of course they wouldn't. Burton Albion don't play in front of 20,000 expectant, demanding fans every week. There is no pressure to play for Burton Albion, who are punching way above their weight with personal best after personal best. They are freerolling, which is why average players can achieve what they achieve. Put those same average players into a pressure cooker environment and see what happens.

As Kevin McCabe quite rightly says . Put your money were your mouth is and we will talk.

Under the Wilder debacle as McCabe picked the players , team , tactics .

We are fucked with him and fucked without him .
