He briefly went on loan there while he was at Notts County, not sure why as he hadn't done much at County. Wilkinson must have had a "thing" for ex Blades as he also got Pemberton and Beesley.

The irregularities were illegal payments to players. Years later Don Revie was accused of using Bremner to bribe opposition players to throw matches. An allegation made by the Team goalkeeper Gary Sprake. The FA shamefully swept it under the carpet as Revie had been England manager causing Sprake to be castigated and shunned by his former team mates.

All the angst against Leeds is due to their association with Don Revie, a obnoxious specimen of humanity, in my opinion.

Bob Stokoe alleged that Don Readies tried to bribe him. Wolves players said they were offered money during the vital league game against Leeds in 1972.
