Completely stole from a BM poster-

We considered Maynard but he was 'not for us'

O'Grady deal collapsed simply due to him being back in Brightons plans

On the transfer window as a whole he says "Overall, a few disappointments, but some great lads in, the team kept together, and some great extensions."

We had 'Plans from A to E'

Diego still refusing to sign

On Matty Done he says "he's been playing forward and doing well. Think you'll like what Matty adds."

Jim also posted this on Twitter:
@JamesDPhipps:We have not given up. A number of candidates are out for mixed reasons (unwilling seller, unwilling player, outbid, injury).

So trying to put names in those boxes:
Unwilling seller: Brighton & HA - Ogrady
Unwilling player: ? Perhaps Danny Graham
Outbid: Cardiff - Doyle
Injury: Bradshaw

Just hoping the unwilling player got marked off the list early.
I don't know much about how transfers work but if he was unwilling when the JTW opened then he still would have been last night.
Surely the easy part is knowing if a player wants to come to you.
Bradshaw being injured makes sense too, although done has a knock too

Leon Clarke has done his time in the pub league so fair play on him if he was the unwilling.

I don't think we can compete with Cardiff, I mean they have loads of cash to spend, they sold a full back for over £1.5m last week! ;)

As soon as O'Grady became fashionable and BHA saw he wasn't as bad as he first looks they weren't going to let him go for all the poofs on the pier.

Did I not read on here someone put Bradshaw has dodgy hamstrings? Maybe UTD saw him twang one the other and decided that glass footballer is enough.

I found it embarrassing on twitter yesterday the level of abuse Jim was receiving. We sign a attacking midfield/ striker who has been prolific this season and again fans aren't happy!

Best transfer window in years for me, I genuinely believe we have the best squad in the league now. Pressure's on you now Mr Clough you have the tools.

But he's playing catch up.

Leader of the pack next season.

I think he's added well. The Squad that he put together in August was strong, but its taken a long time for players to find their positions and form, Basham and McEveley are big examples, we've also struggled with niggling and long term injuries which hasn't helped. But in recent weeks, even before the main January signings came in we've had a number of players suddenly hitting form - Murphy, Scoogs, Harris, JCR to name a few.

Adding the quality that we have in January (and you could also include Che and Kieran Wallace to that list) has been excellent, all are pretty much ready to slot in and importantly are as good or better than what we've got.

We've done well to release players too, players not making the first team have been allowed to go and that makes things very healthy in and around the first team. Perhaps only Collins staying around when he's not wanted by Clough, but as we've seen with Clough in the past, whilst they're still at the club, they still get chances, but i think its unlikely with Collins.

I think the thing that people have been getting at is that we haven't got O'Grady, Doyle or a similar player. It was the clear target and the club from Clough to Phipps have stated that this was the aim. Bringing in Matty Done though, perhaps shows that difference this year. He's perhaps not the first choice, but he was one of the ones on the list, not a panic buy, he's got goals in him and he's in form.

So a good transfer window for me. Ideal to compliment the promotion push

To be honest hearing the players who are just hitting form,
Reminding me who we've brought in early in the window,
And just listing the quality we've kept hold of really puts things into perspective.
The only thing that concerns me is this ....

What is embarrassing is that a Club of our stature, pulling crowds of 18,000+, can find it so completely impossible to sign a decent proven striker in nearly 3 years. THAT, is embarrassing and demonstrates that for all the good things happening at the Club, there is still a significant degree of incompetence at the top !!
We still do not have goals in the squad; some have been saying even recently that Hidgon will come good but there is absolutely no evidence of a decent, prolific striker in our squad who will score the goals to get us into the play-offs this season.
Prepare yourselves for more disappointment ......

Really? It's 2015 you know.

You know gays and other other minorities aren't as uptight as some of the PC Brigade make out you know?
Someone has just compared tinchy stryder to the crazy frog haha
He's been bollocked for being racist?! How's that racist?
Ugly is ugly, it might be nasty but telling people it's 2015 ain't ever going to stop that

Being gay was illegal is 1967 and still broadly considered a mental illness until 1973. As of 2014, gay marriage is legal, so I would have thought quoting the year was particularly relevant.

Mate if that hurt you so much, I mean really bothered you and got under your skin then I apologise. I'm not one of those who class bullying of any kind as just "banter" but there's a line and it seems people jump on the bandwagon when there was really no issue in the first place.

I share the disappointment at us not signing a striker, but remain convinced that our lack of goals is more down to our approach, for the first 50 or 60 minutes of every game, than it is to the quality of our players / strikers.

Not that offended! Just think it's an outdated expression that we probably shouldn't use.

And I'm with you on the Tinah Temper thing based on what I know (which is what you told me).

Wow.
