I remember the couple of months under David Weir.


Sitting bottom of the PL... the 20th best team in the country, is nowhere near as pathetic as it has been in my 30-odd years of watching us

I remember cheering a shot from Fabain Brandy whilst David Weir was in charge, then clapping the stewards on the away end when they did thier safety drills just before half time..

Was also at Wembley to see waddle score... Etc

Don't go in the Railway too much, but last time was pre covid, birmingham, a night match live on sky, we'd been boozing since 12 and had covered some ground, I'm told I bumped into my nephews and babbled a little, then fell asleep on the kop...

There’s perspective. I don’t know your circumstances but I’m more grateful than usual for my health and the love of those around me. There’s a lot of bad shit in the world and the fact that our players aren’t as good as other clubs’ players isn’t really that important in the bigger picture of things. And when that doesn’t work, there’s the other lot in s6.

I think we were all hoping for a change of owner in the summer (including the Prince), with someone to chuck some money about.

Why is everybody always so right about us? All our initial anger and indignation at the so called lazy journalists, biased pundits, entitled fans and bent officials in the Prem just ends up looking ridiculous, as we almost always live up to media stereotypes about us.

but we have supposedly upper level Championship players, so how can we be hopeless?

The players don't seem to know what they're doing and show little desire, almost accepting defeat before the match has started.
There's been dozens of promoted teams with worse players than us with lower budgets
yes they're relegated but have shown more desire.

Think most people expected relegation and results (apart from Newcastle) have been respectable
but damage limitation, keep the score down seems to be our gameplan.

If you're being honest, our performances have been shocking and we seriously could be the worse PL side in it's 30 years.
Based on the players we have, we are under performing. We're currently no where near Championship standard.

Change manager.....results might not improve much.....but performances, positivity, tactics, effort instantly improve.
We're going down anyway, challenging the Derby low, so what have we got to lose.

A win against Everton and a win at Tottenham, both so nearly achieved, would have transformed the morale of the team, and I'm sure the Newcastle debacle wouldn't have happened. Add in to the mix the shocking injury situation and it seems almost as if there is a curse on the Prince's Premier League campaigns.
Perhaps, as it did for Bassett, all will come right after Christmas.......

When I went to see us play Altrincham in the cup, in about 1981? Away, at Altrincham, on a cold wet mid-week night, and we lost, 3-0 I think. That was our low point. These are halcyon days by comparison. So cheer up chaps.
