I am actually quite disappointed

I have never referred to any previous discussion or subject ,you have thrown insults out at my debating ability ,I have pointed out that you wanted us to lose in a post which you then said I selectively edited ,and now Im a troll.
Saying I want us to go for a win and risking defeat isn't wanting us to lose.
Most people don't need that explaining to them.

We're disappointed.
Think of those poor fuckers who support Manchester.
Even more of Van Gaal to deal with.
Luis should be on the mobile asking Hammond if he wants to come over and shaft his wife.

ad infinitum.

I was disappointed with the substitutions.

Flynn hasn't created anything in living memory and has scored 1 goal in the last 12 months. He is slow.
There is no end product to Reed's play. He is slow.
Done presses, has an eye for goal and is quick - and came on in injury time.

Whilst McEverley's knock did not help Adkins, I would have liked to have seen a bit more ambition shown. Someone to run at defenders - JCR or Done 20 to 30 minutes earlier - would have been good to see, particularly as Sammon was expendable.

I also saw Man Utd beat Swansea. Same game. Had we run at them in the last quarter we might have got something out of them.

I was also disappointed with Hammond's challenge. Brayford contributed to the problem, but that was a rush of blood too far.

I think Flynn and Reed came on to help out defensively, as Man Utd put on two quick wingers. I agree it would have been interesting to see Done and Adams introduced, but the aim was to not concede.

Yes, they came on for that reason. But I'd have liked to have seen a little more boldness.

First a weakened team at Fulham and then probably the most defensive performance I've ever seen from United. It's ironic that "negative Nigel" was actually far more positive in the cups than "positive Nigel". He showed this Dutch manager far too much "reshpect".

yep, 'negative Nigel' as people like to call him would have had us win that game whereas 'Positive Nigel' just severed up the most negative game Ive seen in years.

I do think we did well to not concede the 7 I expected before the game but seriously we offered absolutely nothing up front with no pace and not one player on the pitch who can even beat a man.

I do think weve been playing better in general since the coventry game but my god do we need to sign some pace this window

If we had opened up it would have played into Man Uniteds hands.

We set up defensively - which I think everyone would agree was the best way to start the match.

As the game progressed I think we realised we were pretty comfortable adopting this approach.

I dont agree that we should have gone for it - I think the lure of getting them back to Bramall Lane was too big (not just financially wise either).

One rash tackle has opened the debate to whether we should have gone for it.

If that tackle never happened we'd be discussing a perfectly executed tactical master-class and how we could do them at The Lane. Thats what is gaulling.

To be fair , that has to be the least threatening Manchester United side since they got relegated in 1972
What a poor excuse of a team they are , by comparison to 5 years ago

To be fair, they were shocking when the pigs beat them in the Washing Machine Cup in the early '90s.

what was disappointing in a drab game , was when we tried to go forward Sammons complete inability to control the ball meant we were soon defending again
even allowing for taking a defensive stance , its defensively good to relieve the pressure by the forwards keeping the ball up the other end so the defenders get a breather
The plan was good but our lack of effectiveness up top was noticable
and DeGea touched the ball 5 times in 90 minutes, 3 from back passes along the back , only Bashams under hit shot making him gather a shot , which wasnt enough

you know me I always see more positives from the depths of despair , but in all honesty we were getting a draw through the red devils inability , more than from our ability

Can't knock the effort from our players, but think we were set up wrong, if you are going t play Sammon, then I would have had him up front and Billy behind him, Billy doesn't have the height for balls knocked over the top. Great support as always, far too good for League One.

Surely you need some sort of ability to restrict £400m worth of talent for 99% of a game?

we defended brilliantly
but no matter how much theyve spent
I feel we could have chanced more up front
they are playing with no panache , no passion
Daft as it sounds if wed have played Porter up front rather than Sammon wed have caused them problems
thought Sammons picked a golden day to give his most inept display
Just think there were there to get at, they were off colour, off their game in every department
Depay coming on injected 200% more movement than theyd shown previously

Two days after the game so it can’t be put down to a knee jerk reaction but we were tactically piss poor on Saturday. Really. I’ve read a lot of bollocks on here and elsewhere about how ‘good’ we were to take the great Man Utd to a couple of minutes of a replay but the stark reality is that we could have got something out of that game if we had been more positive. Speaking to a few neutrals who watched it, they all agreed – that Man U were poor and we could have nicked it if we’d gone for it. Not saying that the players didn’t put a shift in, they did to a man but the tactics were shocking. Really, really, really don’t understand Adkins decision to take Sharp off when he looked the most likely Blade to grab a goal and neither did Sharp judging by his reaction.

Man U, or rather Van Gaal, showed us respect and set up to stop us doing anything, pinned us back and closed us down really well. Perhaps a bit overkill for a L1 side but it's a L1 side that has reached two cup semi finals in two seasons so we're not to be taken lightly.

The idea that we'd have done better under Clough is just fanciful speculation.

Don't agree with any of that and Sharp was playing with an injection in his foot. And he never had a touch near goal so he was only slightly more likely to score than me.

Again, piss poor management from Bumble then for bringing Flynn on instead of yourself...

Well the way I see it is that there was bound to be a chance at some point and it would just be a case of kicking or heading the ball into their goal. It really isn't that difficult.

I've explained this to Chris Wilder and I'm hoping to get at least 20 minutes from the bench next game.
