2 quality signings within a week, and seems like CW is finally getting 1st choices, without being priced out.

Real statement of intent this, regardless of opinion on the price tag £10m up front is a real statement of intent.

Exciting time to be a blade. Let's get behind the team and get them over the line - we have a real chance of establishing ourselves.

How do you know that these are first choices and previous ones weren’t?
Because CW has repeatedly stated all players we are in talks with are first choice?

And possibly because he tried to sign Cannon whilst HRH was here and he wouldn't sanction it, and we have now gone back in and signed him?

Agreed, 10m is a massive investment in the chamoionship and his and BBDs wages will be big. It's exactly what CW/AK need for the back half of the season.

We won't be done yet as its clear we need a centre back and central midfielder and I hope we have similar success there.

Yep £10m for us at this level is unprecedented. CW has been talking very positively about progress with the rest so we will have to wait and see!

Happy so far, I hope they show as much ambition in the other sides of the club too such as the training ground development and academy status. I don't think will really know how good they are till we hit a bad patch. Even the maniac across the city looked the real deal early on.

The financial gap between the PL and Championship has grown so wide it’s now creating another division within the division, the haves and have nots. This is going to drive price of decent players up. Can’t expect fees int PL to be pushing £100m and no top down effect to Championship

This is where I'll start to get excited, too.

Like you say, a lot of owners throw big money it at and it ends badly. The real litmus test is around growing our off-field capabilities and infrastructure. What we've heard here so far has been positive; they seem committed to the new training ground and there's been talk about bringing in better data and analytics capabilities.

Another indicator will be things like ticket prices and our commercial activities. How can we do this better, without it being at the detriment at fans.

The board appointments seem very good to me. A nice blend of experience, industries and thus perspectives and connections. I am hoping that this can be leveraged to its full.

I'm falling out of love with football because of the money, mainly. It's only my tribal passion and loyalty to the Blades that keeps me involved. Although I've got Sky, TNT Sports and Amazon (force of habit really) I very rarely watch any PL games - they just don't interest me. I honestly can't remember the last time I watched a European game (eg Champions League etc). I only watch the Championship games that we have an interest in (ie other top clubs and if pigs are losing).

The PL is now 3 separate divisions and it looks increasingly like the Championship is 2 divisions. The last couple of seasons, at least, the top 4 are league above the rest.

Give me back the 70's any time. Every team had it's star player. And every team had a dream and hope that was possible to achieve.

What are the odds on it all going badly wrong within a year,.one of them clears off with the club safe and the other has a sex change and blames it on the club?

Wonder if the £10 million quoted is on the back of mortgaging our future parachute payments for next year?

I just hope BBD and Cannon don't leave their payslips lying around in the dressing room. Could foster some real discontent amongst the squad which could potentially derail our season.

It's bizarre. We sign two very high quality players and my instinctive reaction was, "Oh no!"

If we do get promoted and I do end up going to games next season with the VAR (fuck that, fuck it), the drama, the diving and the cheating, I can't help thinking it'll be in the spirit of Greyfriars Bobby.

We had multiple players on premier league contracts with various classes to reduce them before but I suspect they were on more than a championship signing is on!

A real danger, the shorts don't seem to have pockets.

Last I heard was Holloway wanted to send him back. Don't think their fans think he's up to snuff either
OK. That's a shame. Looked decent the few times I saw him. Be interested if he does come back what we do with him. Considering the scarcity of that type of player I would still have him on the bench.

One of the board members is CEO of a biotechnology company and one area we've needed upgrading for a long time in our medical facilities and expertise. He is perfectly placed to oversee this and make sure we are properly looking after our expensive assets

The players' agents will be well aware of what the rest of the squad,
and probably all the other players in the Championship are earning... trust me.

Don’t worry what that one time has been thinks of him, couldn’t run a football club properly.

I can remember Seriki getting a few minutes here, looking decent then getting sent out on two disastrous loans to Beershot (1) and Rochdale (29), didn’t get played at Beershot and fans seemed very unhappy with him at Rochdale.

Fast forward and he’s taken his chances and looks brilliant prospect, no fear, runs at defenders, can find a cross pull back etc. only query I’d have is he a RB or RW/MF?

This is spot on. I think in certain circumstances when you're low in the ground you may as take that risk of putting them on the bench.

Breath of fresh air, 5 signings this window once done, good infrastructure and will help get us Established at the top table.
