MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has admitted that his team did not deserve their 1-0 win over Sheffield United in League One on Tuesday.

The Dons earned their fourth victory in six games last night as Dele Alli's 87th-minute goal made the difference at Bramall Lane.

However, Robinson believes that his side were lucky to come away with the points against their fellow promotion hopefuls.

"We didn't deserve to win. I've got to be honest and say that we weren't great," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"They're a very good side and we had to do one or two things at the end of the game. We rolled our sleeves up and we fight. I'm not ever going to apologise for my team fighting and putting their bodies on the line."

Does he mean cheating by way of bullying tactics? If they are supposed to be a footballing side, don't want it. Whilst not spectacular last night, there was good honest effort and hard work put in by our players. Will it be enough? but I'd rather we play football more like we did last night than them.

Refreshing honesty about his own team. It was a great win for them. The sort of game that if you lose playing that way, your fans say you're an indisciplined rabble, but if you win, you're gutsy and have a win-at-all-costs mentality.

Of course opposition fans and neutrals will mark you out as cynical and anti-football. And they'd be right.

Yes Mr Robinson always sings the blades praises when working for sky sports . Maybe there is some method in his madness , but i do think he is right . He maybe touting for the job , if it comes around , but as a football man , he knows the blades are heading in the right direction. MK Dons have shown they can mix it and diversify there tactics from game to game .

Mr Clough hopefully can learn from this . We are not that for away , so lets stick , not twist.

It felt like a mugging and all the more galling against a team well versed in many of the worst elements of the game. The match officials proved woefully inept in dealing with MK's approach and eventually got both teams going to ground at every opportunity knowing they'd got an even chance of getting a soft decision.

Nevertheless, our inability to capitalise on plenty of possession in the attacking third was again exposed with JCR and Murphy wasteful in their final ball delivery. When they did find a Blades player it tended to be Basham, who is many things but not a finisher.

Otherwise, lots of positive performances, especially defensively, with MK restricted to a single shot on target in 95 minutes.

It wasn't a one-off though was it? Last 4 home league games: W0 D2 L2 & only 2 goals scored. That's shocking. Add the negative football and ludicrous team selections and fans are right to be expressing real concern.

If we win two on the spin it will either be because the opposition are crap (eg Crewe and Yeovil), or Clough and the players will be doing something different. That is what we whiners and moaners are asking for.
