Hurts more when you’re going

This really is 1975-76.

We were relegated early on and our only fun was hoping the pigs went down from Division Three

When the halftime scores went up and the pigs were behind the old guy in the front row of the John Street seats - just behind me standing on the terrace - always stood up and screamed “Doomed” at the top of his voice.

In one game somebody said to him - you know we’re already down don’t you? His immediate reply was “It hurts a lot less when you’re gone than when you’re going”.

I felt like that again today for the first time - it didn’t hurt as much.

Pigs won 3 of the last 5 and stayed up that year - here’s hoping that history doesn’t completely repeat itself!

The Magic will come back - some time!!

Usually when we lose my weekend is ruined. I'm like a depressive. Today, nothing , not even a flicker of emotion

I thought you meant it hurts more when you're at the games, seeing it play out in front of your own eyes instead of on a telly.

I'm fully aware that I probably wouldn't be saying this if we hadn't been shit all season, but I'm so sick of following the club entirely through screens that I don't really care about going down. I'm so disconnected from the club because of the excessive consumption of TV football. This season just doesn't feel real, which is probably why I'm not too hurt by it.

I just want to get back to Bramall Lane.
