You know what when the new Spurs stadium is up and running no one will give a toss about the old White Hart Lane. Another strange phenomenon is how we get posters on here bleating on about keeping The lane as it is now yet they want the kop improving, the same people never raise an eyebrow at McCabe building hotels and student flats which will never ever benefit the football club on land that could be better used for the football club. If it was up to some fans the ground would look like this.........

I'd knock the lot down in a heartbeat for something like what Spurs are building . It is called progress but shove your hotels and flats up your arse.
 



I think the only one of the modern built stadiums that I like is the millennium, with the stands right up to pitch so generates a good atmosphere , just didn't like our last performance in it !
I think the problem when teams move into new grounds and the lack of atmosphere is that groups and areas of the ground where the fans a more vocal become split up so you don't end up with a Kop etc.

It was shit near the front. Felt like you were lower than the pitch. It added to the overall shitness of a fucking shitty shit day.
 
I was in lower tier that day also but obvs a little further back than you BB so didn't suffer same though not being able to see might have been a blessing mate ! I choose to consign that 90 mins to room 101 . Also been to millennium for Wales vs England in 2005 and atmosphere was fkg incredible for that game so a lot based around that mate

If it was the season we were in the premier I was there that night too. I don't recall Chas and Dave singing at half time though. Was that live? Or over the sound system? I do remember us losing though. And I 'll never forget being sat in traffic for two hours after the game just not moving at all.
 
Tottenham are, in my view, the least appalling of the big London clubs, with fans who are slightly less moronic than the cockney average and a ground that is only moderately horrible. This redevelopment won't alter the fact that it is a bloody long walk up to the ground from Seven Sisters through some of the most disagreeable real estate in the world.

Done the Seven Sisters walk first season back in the big league in 90 and as I and a few will recall very was interesting . I like white Hart Lane proper football ground and good atmosphere as some he older generation will know ,

Why would you want to keep a stand such as the Kop which was completely old of date on the day it was built?

I'm not asking for 5 star treatment, just the basics like no posts in view, leg room, a decent viewing angle and covered concourse.

It takes the piss that away fans get better facilities than home fans at the Lane!

What "facilities" are you all looking for exactly when visiting somewhere for 90 minutes?

Because apart from a seat, I'm stumped.

This is the only place I've ever seen anyone complain about the Kop or any other aspect of the ground.

Been down the Lane this morning and the Kop really does let the ground down. If I know McCabe I suspect it'll be a lot higher on the agenda than people think. He's spent millions transforming the ground and won't be content while that eyesore is sat there.

I also take no notice of the argument on revenue return. McCabe's pride in United and Bramall Lane makes that a non argument. He knows financially he isn't going to get a return on a new kop, but he hasn't so far on the many millions he's already put in to United anyway.

It's not like he can't afford it and with the Prince sharing the financial burden of running the club, I'm expecting to see something happen in the next two or three seasons, promotion to the top flight or not.
 
BL will never be flattened and rebuilt. it would mean playing at Swillsborough for at least a season if not 2. Would a single person on here agree to that?

So it would be a case of building one of those Ikea stadiums on the Airport land called the "The AlphaRooms Steel City Arena"

I think we can get to 45,000 on the Bramall Lane site should we ever need too and Id be very happy with that.
 
Wonder if any Kop development would include knocking down the Corner too and re building that?

The current issue with that is that the Prince has nothing to do with the ground. If he buys half off McCabe the argument will be "why didn't he spend it on the team".

I bet McCabe wishes he had developed the Kop rather than the hotel as that's cost him millions upon millions.

No fucking chance, we don't have a park! McCabe could build a Wembley replica on BDTBL and those fucking idiots on the council would find some excuse to favour the pigs. The trouble is, which the council are too thick to realise, is that a contest in this region between the death trap and Leeds would only go one way and they would end up cutting their noses off to spite their faces.

Get Sheffield FCs new ground built, it's just around the corner, that can be the fan experience place for the Lane. Having a tie-in to the world's oldest club as well as Bramall Lane would appeal to FIFA, even if the council would still back the ancient, crumbling option over the historic one.

So what are you saying as long as you have a seat you ain't bothered if the ground is crumbling around you?

Like I said, proper leg room, no posts in view and a modern viewing angle. Basically be able to see the pitch a lot better.

Ideally I'd clear the site and build a proper stand with the concourse under the stand. I would then have it as all safe standing in order to increase the capacity whilst keeping the costs lower than the equivalent seating capacity.

I went on the Bllt last week for the boxing for the first time in probably 30 years ,it really is the worst part of the ground.
