Interesting piece on the BBC discussing how to stay up after promotion.

One of the factors Wilder identifies that helped us and hindered Norwich was our easy start v Bournemouth amd Palace allowed us to get points on the board early and build confidence.

Good to see we are well prepared for our easy start this season too !!

I've not read it yet but please tell me that 'Sell your best players' is one of the suggestions?!

This season’s fixtures presented us with a reasonably good opportunity to get 6 to 9 points on the board from the first 4 games. That would be 25% of the way towards survival and really set us up with a fighting chance.

Before they kicked on in the last couple of seasons, Brighton were specialists at being quick out of the traps and racking up 3 or 4 early wins, and the points gained sustained them through the almost inevitable 5 or 6 game barren runs that come along later in the season, and kept them up in 17th.

Unfortunately, we’re nowhere near ready to start the season and are highly likely to waste our favourable early fixtures. By the time, 1 September is here - the date that some are suggesting we reserve judgement until - and assuming that no deadline signings can play against Everton on the 2nd, we’ll then be confronted by a run of 6 fixtures in which we might very conceivably not get a single point irrespective of who we bring in.

The gaffer, who will undoubtably be breaking the season down into blocks of fixtures and will be targeting returns from certain games, must be spitting fur. And justifiably so.
