You really have a problem with Long don't you.

Either way, he doesn't look like he's ready just yet, and he'd stand out like a sore thumb if he wasn't surrounded by ineptness.

UTB

He could probably do with a spell on loan to a div2 side like Joe Hart did at Shrewsbury because the knives are coming out for him unfortunately. Personally I am not that impressed with Mark Howard so I don't think it makes much difference until the players infront of them sort themselves out

This is definitely one of is not the worst team sufc as ever had. It's a belief I've had since the start of the season and its sadly coming true. Attacking wise we look blunt and not a threat to the oppositions goal. At the back we look shaky and vulnerable our midfield for reasons I don't understand is just plain dreadful. Thats it.

Joe Hart wasn't at loan at Shrewsbury, Man City bought him from Shrewsbury (Stuart Pearce and Tim Flowers were there the night we spent the majority of the cup tie having a laugh with Hart attempting to wind him up).

He did go out to Tranmere, Blackpool and Birmingham from Man City though :)

Ahh good knowledge Foxy. What s your opinion of Long?

He's a talented keeper, whose main attribute at the moment is shot stopping. He isn't the best keeper we have on the books, but that's not to say he isn't good enough :)

People are very quick to take a dislike to someone these days... I remember when Alan Kelly had a rush of blood and gained support, Long's had one and gained a few knives (though it's coincided with a turn in our form results wise)

Ideally, it would have been better to introduce him gradually and let him continue developing under less pressure.

He was fine till the team stopped performing. I didn't think he did too badly yesterday and took some decent crosses in the 2nd half. If Collins was his comfort blanket then we need him back quickly.

I also find it strange how suddenly everyone doesn't think Harry wasn't any good to begin with just because he's had a few bad games.

I've always maintained that his lack of pace will hold him back, he's also made to look a lot better when playing with Collins. Collins helps him as well as getting him out of the shit :)

As our first choice keeper, yes. Its not personal and I am not a boo boy. I was not sarcastic towards him either after the Yeovil howler. I want him to do well, but his weaknesses are becoming blindingly obvious. I've watched yesterdays goal several times and I am still not sure why he just acted as shepard as the ball rolled in the net.

The worst team we've ever had? Really?! Adrian Heath? Early Warnock? Robson's overpaid shite? And that's only in the last 15 years.

Flynn moved to the right, Murphy to left wing, Blackman up front. Any thoughts on the thinking behind and effects of those changes?

Flynn can't beat a man on the outside and Murphy continually cut inside. I thought Blackman worked hard, showed some decent control and some decent touches. He's only young and still learning, although some fans seemed determined to abuse him for 90 minutes - I'm not sure how it will make him less lazy.

Just seen goals. What was long doing?

Another shocking bit of keeping. When's Howard back?

I've watched yesterdays goal several times and I am still not sure why he just acted as shepard as the ball rolled in the net.

Long is a good keeper but he's lacking confidence in his decision making at the moment. I hope that they're taking the time at Shirecliffe to practice him taking high balls as the rest of the team jump for the ball around him.

I'm not saying it was the correct call but I think Long was expecting the County player at the back post to attack Judge's header - his body position is to stop a shot back across him. He hesitated for a split second and the ball crept in; two months ago he'd have thrown himself at it and blocked it but he seemed worried that if he did that, whoever was coming in at the back post would have just nodded it past him. He needs to go back to basics and trust his instincts.

The goal came because we gave a County player a free header 10 yards out and then let two County players follow in. The defending was unacceptable at any professional level.

Foxy who is the best keeper on the books in your opinion? Are we talking current or potential ability?

That's how I saw it too, he had one eye on the unmarked player next to him. I'm baffled how he is criticised when the smallest player on the field gets a free header and more county players are in space even though we have an extra man on the field. Piss poor defending not a goalkeeping error.

A bltant goalkeeping error! He could have stopped it couldnt he? he didnt, so its an error which cost us a goal.

You really do have a thing against Long eh Jehovah, I'm not saying he is perfect by any means but I do find it strange that he is being singled out for criticism when the blokes in front of him who have more experience and should know better don't do their jobs.

Its supposed to be his box, he is master and commands it. Looked scared to me with that goal, which is why it feebly crepped in. Obviously you can question the defence, but Long could have easily stopped that goal and did'nt.

I think our other young George, in time, will be the better of those currently on the books. Providing of course he's allowed to continue to develop in the way he has been. Good move giving him a pro-contract recently.

We're lucky to have a couple of the most promising young English keepers.

Warnock's early teams finished 10th, 13th and 3rd in the second tier.
They were therefore nowhere near the worst team we've ever had.
That "honour" goes to the team that finished 21st in the third division in 1981. Fact!
