How much will we spend

We wont 'spend' owt. what will happen is we'll get rid of all the shit and the players that haven't't worked out eg. porter, Taylor, Brandy, McGinn, and so on, and what money we make from them we'll spend on 2 or 3 good quality players. More of a clear out than a spending spree.

Enlighten me as to whether McGinn is shit or hasn't worked out ?

Oh yeah i forgot. The league rules. We have 500 million to spend on players to take us into the champions league, but unfortunately the league rules stipulate we can't buy anybody. Ever again.

I doubt we'll spend much this window, it's more about shipping the crap out.

I doubt we'll spend much this window because we never do and I would be very pleasantly surprised if we signed one, let alone two half decent players who would actually improve on the mediocre squad that we currently have.

I agree it's about shipping some of the crap out but the main reason they're here is because nobody else wants them. Seriously, for years now we've become a dumping ground for some of the most woeful "footballers" who make money from the game and those days have to stop. Pay them off if you have to but it really is time to get the squad whittled down and only but players that will genuinely add something. I think Clough sounds like the kind of bloke who may do that, I just hope the money men allow him to do it and don't use any incoming cash to build another chuffing hotel!

On 21 December 2003, Dowie was appointed manager of Crystal Palace, inheriting a squad with low morale and occupying 19th place in Division One. However, under his leadership, the club went on an impressive run that included 17 wins from 23 games after he took over, until the end of the season, enabling the club to finish in sixth place in the First Division, just scraping into the play-off places.
and we are 17th

that's the season I forgot in my post the other day. Dont give up.

i cant see any money being spent in the JTW.

There will be alot of out goings in preparation for next season though!

And after today, this assumption we can just muddle through the JTW and save it for the big promotion push next season must stop.

Unless the promotion push is to get us back into Div. 3.

There's no logic to not spending money to keep it for next season. How does that work?

If you want to build a squad, you need to buy the right players when they're available. You can't just
say oh we'll buy em in the summer. You don't know the right players will be there and even if they are, all logic
would state that the longer you have new players in the squad the better. Anybody ever heard the saying "a new team needs time to gel"

If we aren't spending any money, it's cos we haven't got any. Simple as that.
