Just having a look around at players that would strengthen our team and I came across this, albeit from the Mirror:

Luka Modric price tag set at staggering £670m as Real Madrid warn Inter Milan off transfer

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/luka-modric-price-tag-set-13023432

Now that would give KM and the Prince something to argue about.

Be hilarious if Inter turned round and said ok no problem - all up front ok with you?

We need someone to nullify Fleck for our return fixture against the Read and White Wizards!

In Wilders recent interview, he said they'd "barely touched" the Brooks money.

Can't touch the majority of it if it isn't getting paid for 12-18 months.

I understand Wit saying as such on social media, no chairman or negotiator anywhere will even know who the fuck he is.
But I'm not entirely sure why Chris has said that on the radio waves. Surely weakens our bargaining position?

I love transparency but not so much when it comes to budget...

Notice how our owners had been putting in 2 or 3 million each in recent years in the form of buying new shares but the last share issue was June 2017. No evidence of one since and we know they couldn't agree on a loan or gift. My guess is a chunk of the Brooks money will be used instead. Probably not as much left slushing around as some might think.

As far as Waghorn is concerned, not sure we're interested in bargaining.

Wilder has said, the offer is there....has been there for ages, still on the table and it will still be there until deadline day.

Take it or leave it.

I’m not sure it makes a lot of difference. Listening to Dyche yesterday and the standard practice now is that you agree a deal with a player, then before he signs, the agent goes to every rival club and says ‘can you better this?’ I knew it happened to an extent but Dyche indicated this is happening to every deal he’s tried to do this season.

It's a good point, but his comments were in the context of Uniteds decent financial organisation, citing the plans that have been put in place for the best and worst case scenarios. It's important to have those assurances in light of the drama currently going on at ownership level.
But I agree, maybe being a bit more tight-lipped would be better.

I see where the others are coming from above at the same time though
We've said take it or leave it, end of story

And I don't believe for a second we've paid £4mil upfront for Egan but we've reported it as such to appease our fans and Brentford's too. I think we've got a fair chunk of budget left, Brooks money regardless

How much have we spent up front?

1.5m-Egan?
500k-1m loan fee Woodburn?
500k-1m loan fee Henderson?
250-500k - Bryan?

We've quite a few a gone out getting their wages off the bill...not really spent that much as yet...think we were/are saving to pay upfront for a striker...speculation eh!?!?

I'd say you're not far wrong with the first 3, Bryan was free though

Egan fee will probably be paid in instalments, like Brooks. The next payment is probably due just after the next Brooks payment comes in. Helps with cashflow.

I just can't see us paying £4mil for him with 12 months on his contract if im not mistaken. I think it depends on a play off finish etc

Yeah, it’s possible some of it is based on performance or appearance related add-ons. Deals are so complicated these days the transfer fee may as well be undisclosed.

Who said we'd paid the Egan fee in full?

It's MUCH cheaper than the price we're asking for JOC put it that way, I have that on very good authority :)

Yeah, it will be because Egan has gone to a championship club and JOC would have been going to a PL club.

... No one?
It's just been reported as £4mil plain and simple, I think it's reliant on factors such as what I've quoted above

You can probably see why I asked seeing as you said "we've reported it"

:)

I was told by a friend of a friend that with the Brookes money we have 20m for this window and the January window and that didn't include wages

I think you’re looking for something that isn’t there
