Interesting why you claim "you" told us when McCabe had already stated his intentions.

He has already stated his intention to hand over to someone else long before your posts.

Any fan who invests a little money in a football club who expects a return is indeed a fool.

:)

I stated McCabe would de-list moths ago well before McCabe announced it.........

Investing in football clubs is a fools game yes but in the case of SUFC and the cheats money soon to arrive the timing to de-list is like taking sweets out of the mouths of children ........ day light robbery in my opinion.

Surely from your point of view that will be a good thing though? We'll have a new chairman in, with different ideas and plans!

McCabe is the best the Blades have had but that means nowt cause we've had sum reight shit.

The lack of serious investment in the team when we gained promotion to the Premiership was unforgiveable !

Sorry, but from a business point of view, what you suspect Mr McCabe to be doing is nothing out of the ordinary.

If this was something other than the football club you support, you wouldn't bat an eyelid.

At the end of the day, buying shares in a PLC is a risky business - whether the PLC is a football club or a pharmaceutical industry. Everyone who invested knew the risks - and were perhaps a little misguided in buying shares in the company.

Personally, I would never buy shares in SUFC, not just because of the inherent risks, but because I wouldn't be able to separate the business from the football club that I love. Anyone who bought them as a fan was deluded. It was never going to make them money, it was never going to give them a proper stake in the club or the way that it's run, and it was always going to end in tears one way or another. As a way of expressing your support for the club, it's a bit bizarre in my opinion.

Yes my opinion is McCabes interest in the Blades is financialiy motivated nowt wrong wi that on its own..........but de-listing before the cheats money arrives is a bit below the belt !

And anyone else who invested had a financial interest.

There was a risk involved that anyone who invested should have known. There are far less risky PLCs to invest into.

THe main point here is McCabe is de-listing before the cheats money arrives knowing full well that if he left it until after the share price in SUFC would rise and he would need to pay Blades Fans more money to buy them out.
A Blade shafting a Blade.........not my cup of tea.

IF that's the way you see it, that's fine. Not the way I see it though.

i dont think there was need to give blackwell a contract extention.

The extension should of come at the end of this season depending on where we finish.

Although i think a large minority want blackwell out now.

i dont as i dont really see who we would replace him with plus i dont want us to start swapping managers every 12 months like newcastle do.

roy keane!!!!!!

as someone who has been buying and selling shares for over 15 years since i turned 18 beightonblade is right that the shareholders are being shafted here..with the company being valued at around £25 million and a reported £30 million coming from west ham you can imagine what the share price would have done...normally someone would make an offer to buy the shares from the market at a premium like that in liverpook fc etc...but as he controls the company he is basically shafting the small shareholders..yes it is silly to invest in football shares but thats besides the point he screwing the shareholders.....and yes mccable knows about off the field activites but he doesnt know how to pick a manager...he gave warnock 7 seaons . when crystal palace went up twice during the same time with different managers if i remember right.

beighton are you going to the egm?

Yeah, if only we'd have sacked Warnock we could be where Palace are now? erm... :)

By the way, isn't McCabe in the position he's in responsible for running the business/club in the best interests of the shareholders? Whilst having overall "control", he has to justify his decisions and gain support of more than just himself and his sons.

Yes, he's in a position of power, but he has more responsibility than just doing as he pleases.

What about the potential benefits to the club and the PLC as a whole in receiving any compensation payment after de-listing?

McCabe can't simply "run off" with all the money, nor I believe would he want to. Surely the fans (who happen to be shareholders) would want the best for the club/plc rather than them seeing a financial reward?

If you have such grave concerns, why not raise this with the shareholders? that or purchase enough of these cheap shares to gain a controlling stake? (yes, I know this isn't possible, but McCabe is in a position of power for a reason, thats about the only way you can get what you want!)

Who do you think the company is ?
Dissapear away from BDTBL !
Yer don't need to..enough to say its on the cards all the small investors in SUFC ie the fans will be shafted financially.

I'd say the company is All the off-field staff, All the Players, All the assetts and investments. Not one man - He's the figurehead of the organisation.

Although I think a large minority want Blackwell out now.

Not sure about this- not heard it on the Kop, or on here- apart from BB

Upfront I think we need to swoop in and stop Norwich from signing Lita.
That would be brilliant signing but cant see it happening this year as we are in direct competiton with Reading- Could happen next year if they go up and we dont.

beighton are you going to the egm?

In a word Londoner no !................ The timing of the egm stinks rotten and me being the synic I am I can't help thinking its on the 27th for one reason only..........get what i mean mi owd ?

McCabe could buy us out at 15p a share and still make a bucket load for himself................aye and pigs might fly...........and United show sum AMBITION !

and how do you suppose he goes about doing that? taking it from the club shop tills?

De-list..........get the cheats money.........sell up...........f*ck off with the profits..........easy.

Just wait and see.

Surely "selling up" isn't running off with the clubs money?

Surely even if he was planning on selling up and doing one... By increasing the amount he'd get, he's increased the value and standing of the club, therefore benefiting the club and fans as well as himself?

Given that I'm assuming you haven't yet received documentation of the plans, how can you be so sure of the motives?

If you have such big concerns, why aren't you attending the EGM and raising them?

Given our recent run of form, and the (some would say baffling) decision to reward Blackwell with a contract extension, how long do people think it will be before certain sections of the crowd start booing the team and demanding his head?

It's already started... and in my experience, the crowds are nastier than when Robbo was in charge.

I disagree. Certain pockets of the crowd may be, but the crowd as a whole are nowhere near as vociferous as they were towards the end of Robbo's tenure. IMO, of course.
