How long will sir bill play

It’s the curious case of Billy Sharp.

He’s living out his career backwards and will see it out with 4 or 5 seasons in Prem.

The problem with players of his age is that they can look fit and strong then totally lose it within a short space of time. He certainly doesn’t look on the wane yet though :)

So long as he remains relatively free of injury I can see him playing at this level for at least a couple of years yet.

Billy’s lack of reliance on pace means that he will go on much longer than the speedsters who fade away after a hamstring goes.

Billy will play a full role for a couple more seasons, and then taper off as he does his badges.

Given a fair wind, Wilder will be around for enough years for Billy to grow under him and to become his successor. Developing the old Liverpool “boot room” succession planning creates continuity and increases chances of stability and success.

More Magic is Just Around the Corner

Never thought about that.
Wonder if Billy has any thoughts towards management? He does seem an influential and popular captain.

murry at Brighton is 38 and still putting them in the net so plenty of time for billy yet

People are living longer. Players are fitter than before. No reason at all why Billy can’t play until he’s 78 imo.

Personally I’m just so glad that he got to spend his best years with us.

Making him captain was pure genius by Wilder, if you see your captains passion for bringing success then it’s hard to not jump on board with that.....you can tell that by how players talk about him, there’s huge respect.

i’d like to imagine four or five years from now we are an established force in the top half of the premier league. sir billy is our miroslav klose, coming off the bench for cameos and bagging important goals...
