Not only to thrash a local rival away but do play so well on Television! Emphatic statement made,

On that showing we look the best side in the division, we may still need 90 + points to get top two but I wouldn't bet against us doing the way we are paying.

Thought Ched did well, if he'd have been on our side i'd of said he'd have grabbed at least a goal. I bet he'd love to come back.

Awesome 2nd half, moved up the gears and scored some very good goals, poor Chezzi couldn't live with us at that point. :):):):):)

We can only beat what's put in front of us and we did that quite impressively today

I won't be getting carried away just yet tho. They're rock bottom of the league for a reason

However, we do currently look like a team that should be around the top end of the division

Onwards and upwards

Thoroughly chuffed with that, but our midfield still leaves the defence exposed at times. Then again, given our goal craziness, can't worry too much. :)

Lacklustre first half all over the pitch.

Tremendous second half. Movement, patience and the missing quality we had in the first half.

Really enjoyed that second half, and big mention to big Leon who looked very sharp and a handful. Quality goal too.

This set of players don't panic. even if/when us supporters do. combine the early goal and local 'derby' factors and that's a great win. huge bonus seeing Clark command his space and pop one home on top of sharp continuing his great run. brillant United. beaming

I know that it's still relatively early in the season, but since Wilder and Knill have built the heart of our midfield in Fleck and Coutts, does anyone else think that the team have managed to sort out this football malarkey, and now seem to actually know what they're doing?

Expecting someone to pinch me and wake me from this dream - are we really banging in goals left, right and centre??

Can't wait for more next Saturday, Shrewsbury must be crappin themselves

Happy days UTFB

He can fuck off. He knackered a promotion charge once, he can keep his dirty dick away from this one.
He was wrongly imprisoned. Still blaming Ched for us not going up that season is just ignorant.

Great result, although 1st half performance was not so good, but this is the best squad we've seen since being relegated to this shitty league and there's so much character there.
Well done Wilder for building a promotion team.

It was a slaughter in the end but we were behind for most of the game and we had a huge bit of luck at 1-1 when Ched went off injured and was then followed immediately by Nolan. On came 38 year old Richie Humphries. He lost the ball to Duffy with his first touch and 2 minutes later it was 3-1.

Chesterfield didn't look like the worst team in the division but they were certainly blown away in that last half hour. Great fun for every Blade.

Actually enjoyed a united performance on TV.

The first half wasn't very cohesive but the second half the team showed what they are capable of and I would seriously be looking at offering Coutts something of an extension.

He put himself in that position. Regardless of his behaviour, conviction and carnival that followed, he was a fucking idiot and stirring your mate's porridge with a pissed up lass in a hotel room was always tempting repurcussions. Had he not been in that room on that night, we would in all likelihood be in the division above right now.

Edit: It's well trodden ground now anyway, and I'm sure everyone would prefer to simply focus on that second half, so I'll remove myself from the Ched discussion.

I'm just saying those kind of sordid affairs probably happen much more than you might think. That doesn't mean they deserve a wrongful 2.5 years behind bars and then to be held responsible for our failed promotion because of that fact.

I'm happy to not continue the conversation too though. :)
