It's possibly too early to say, but what adjectives would you attach to the way you feel about going into the 2008/09 season?

Excited? Nervous? Pessimistic? Outright bricking it?

I'm trying to track down the link from last year's thread... and all the misguided optimism on there :)

I'm excited, be interesting to see what Blackwell can do.

The way we finished last season does get my hopes up, but we all know with the blades what getting your hopes up can do.

Part of me is saying we will be there or there abouts, but the other part is saying dont be silly.

Not particularly jumping up and down or over the top like I was last year. First things first, I haven't renewed my season ticket. Reason why is that I can't get to as many games this year (look how many mid-week games at home there are!!) and I have been having to make massive cut-backs with my money thanks to the ridiculous world we live in today in order to fund my racing as well.

Also there are some other factors which I would rather not discuss. I still want to get to at least 10 home games this year, maybe more, but that depends on my finances.

I have faith in the team as ever since Blackwell came back and whipped the team back into shape after Robson nearly destroyed everything. But I think this league will be too tough to predict, everyone has a chance in this league unlike the boring and predictable Premiership. Maybe this is because I know we will have our usual bad luck with the referees/cheaters/divers or that I'm not bothered if we get promoted or not because I'm not exactly biting anybody's hand to be back up in the most overrated league in the world.

Last year I thought we would walk it- how wrong was I:eek:

At the moment I am getting more exicted as we draw closer to the 1st game

Ahh, we all get excited regardless don't we? I certainly do, can't wait, shame getting a season ticket is looking very very doubtful :(

For me? Not as excited as other seasons to be honest.

Maybe it's the lack of "big" name signings, perhaps it's that I still don't believe that KB is the man to take us where we want to be.

I've missed football, don't get me wrong. It's just, oh I don't know.

Once we kick off the season, I sure I'll be lively again.

I'm feeling?..................................like it's time for a riggwelter!

Seriously, the start of any season for a real supporter of any club is the same. Tangible excitement, more often than not totally unfounded optimism and deep-down that unspoken knowledge that it's almost irrelevant how your club is going to fair, because the real reason you're excited is because it is a journey that is about to start, a journey with a deep-felt passion that always has it's ups and downs and ends in joy, more often frustration and sometimes tears. As with all the best journey's, the joy is not found in the destination, but in the excursion itself! That's why the real supporter does it season, after season, after season. Admit it, you're all hooked! :D :D

going by who we have and have not signed as of today, i reckon we will struggle to make the play offs, but always in and around 6th place

I've got a kind of ambivalent feeling at the moment. One one hand I've missed football, especially the banter both pre- and post-match. On the other, after the false hope this time last year, and the concerted efforts of Bryan "Please, please don't boo me" Robson to do to our season what Rod Stewart does to young blondes, I'm not really getting too wound up by the impending kick-off.

Mind you, it beats the hell out of mowing the lawn.

Im confident every year, and this year is know different

I love the new season!

Up The Blades :)

no comment
i said i was really optimistic last year so il say nothing :)

I learnt many years ago that you have to be an optimist to be a Blade!
3rd or 4th this season - trust me!

What a pessimistic lot you are.....................................

The Blades will be in with a real shout of promotion this season especially when McCabe has finished spending.

Hello Fife our gert went to school with Jim Leishman ! Where in Dunfermline are yer ?

im really looking forward to the season to start :D

3 weeks tomorrow :D

I think we will go up. [bit of luck included, look at the past few seasons of championship, a team in red and white stripes has gone up every season for a while and there's not many in the league this season :p]

I'd check your calendar again, its 2 weeks today ;) :D

Blind faith.

Great Clapton supergroup, although with a slightly questionable front cover. Back on track, after last year's disaster in the first two thirds of the season at least, in and around the play offs will do.

I can't be thumpingly optimistic, but I have fewer doubts than last year.

Then again, I've never been optimistic about United.

2 weeks

that week went fast, see its going quick ;)

I'm in Pitreavie and been up here for 20 years. Makes it tough getting to the Lane (maybe sometimes thats a blessing!) but I do my best :-)
