How disrespectful....

To give Neville credit as well he openly said “it’s the first time I’ve seen Sheffield United in the flesh and it’s easy to see why they are up towards the top of the table”. I think he then went on to mumble something about ‘hard working’ and ‘organised’ but he praised the passing a fair few times as well.

He's not wrong about us being hard working and organised, that's exactly what we are out of possession.

The good thing is the pundits are realising that when we have the ball we play some bloody good football aswell. What a team we've got the privilege to watch.

People seem to be looking for something to get offended about in the same way var is looking for ways to rule out goals

What people should be more upset about is the way the BBC reported,"Spirited Blades battle to the end," as though we were some agricultural League one side in a Cup game. In fairness they did describe Mousset's goal as "sumptuous" but when one of your main sub headlines said we are battlers then it perpetuates the myth that the lesser teams in the Premier League (and we are a lesser team at the moment) are there just to make the numbers up for the "Big six" to swat like flies when they feel like it.
We are not like that , and more and more people are coming to that conclusion.
I was worried when Souness described us as a "Throwback" team. I thought that was a bit of a back handed compliment, but he did give us praise at the end of the game.

If he meant throwback in the sense that we battle and work hard for each other and don't fall on the ground and feign injuries, and expect our players to tackle hard and run, then yes he has a point. But that's not all we are about and tbf, I think he recognised that and his other comments reflected that.

On the whole, I think both Souness and Neville were mightily impressed with the team and the whole Bramall Lane experience. It's their loss that they are only just getting to see what all the fuss is about, they've missed out on seeing real football again in the 21st century.

Calling Manchester United "United" is ingrained in the whole media, let alone former players so it's hardly surprising and I, for one, don't find it upsetting.

Plus 90% of the TV audience would have been followers of Manchester United.

My only regret from the Sky coverage is that Roy Keane wasn't there to give his verdict.

To be fair, he kept saying “United, err, Manchester United.” Then he said, “ If Sheffield, err Sheffield Untied, can get at Untied, err Manchester United, then Sheffield, Sheffield United, could beat United, err Manchester United.” He did try. For me it’s all a bit clunky. Even Shearer says Newcastle, not United, or Newcastle United.
I’d be happy if The Blades Media team contacted the TV and Radio people and just told them to call us Sheff U. Distinctive, and shorter to pronounce.
There's only one team in Newcastle.

Agreed, I don't think being organised or hard working are bad traits but it's seen as a negative by some pundits for some reason.

You're right mate, they probably don't chant " United, United!" Like we do? Not sure on that one!
Point I'm making is, the TV and Radio pundits (most) have obviously become aware, that we don't like the term 'Sheffield' and most are trying to get out out of the habit - even Neville got in a flumox over it - so rather than have this clunky Sheffield United tag, I'd accept SHEFF U as a description of us - though Sheff United is better in my opinion and even trips off the tongue better rhan Sheffield (for the hard of speaking).
So, maybe The SUFC Media team could send out a PR Statement "we will accept Sheff United"

Is Gary fukin Neville? Constantly referring to his beloved as 'United', the other commentator continues to use Sheffield United but no, not Gary, "if United are going to get anything out of this they're going to have to up there game" etc and other shit. No mate, United the original.United, don't need to up their game, we're beating you 2-0 you twat.
There’s stuff that’s worth getting your pants in a twist and this really isn’t it.

I was talking to a Leeds fan then a Man Utd fan yesterday. Spoke to both about the game and I kept referring to US as United yet both of those are also United

Fuckin hate that former players are allowed to commente on the clubs they adore..Messrs carragher n Neville ..
Does my napper in...keep it impartial..keep it real..I ain't biased. I hold it down..I know... you know ...we know....there,s only one united!
Good job Brian Deane wasn’t there then

I thought to say he's a bang man u fan he praised us quite often, especially the passage of play around the 30 min mark when he said we was toying with man u

Personally I'm not particularly bothered what people say about us, everyone has their own agenda in life
Only people I take notice of are Chris, Alan and my 92 year old Blades supporting dad :)

We'll do our talking on the pitch
