How Bristol City can break through our defence - Allegedly

So, they've got to attack well and make it count when they do
And they've also got to defend well.

It's easy this football management lark isn't it

That's it then, Bristol can't lose. Amazing they waffle about our defensive record, but don't mention we're the 4th highest scorers in the division.

As a result, from Bristol City's perspective, the task is effectively more about how they can break down the opposing team rather than how they can stop them, which is often the case when facing a stronger side.

I for one hope that they don't worry about trying to stop us scoring as suggested in that article.

Where's Roy with the view from thread, be interesting to see real Robins fans opinions. This is just lazy journalism from Bristol equivalent of the stir.

Expected goals, my arse. The only ones that count are the ones that end up in the net. We just happen to have done it more often than most of our opponents this season. What a load of speculative bollocks.

Does the journo realise that we were down to 10 men v Brentford for an hour

I’d go with “no”. Our last two games were also against two of the best teams in the league at creating high-quality chances (the expected goals that he’s writing about) so it’s hardly surprising.

What he also doesn’t mention is that we’ve actually conceded MORE through the season than our xG Against numbers suggest we should have done, but oh well.

I will admit i think we've been "fortunate" as well as been very very good defensively. Let's face it, Brentford and Leeds could/should both have scored against us. But they didn't of course. I always get annoyed when teams say "if we'd have scored that chance which hit the post we'd have won". Which is absolutely bullshit as if they'd have scored, who says they wouldn't have sat back and we'd have gone on to score an equaliser and maybe even a winner. Way too much analysis in that Bristol article - looks like screenshots from FIFA on the ps4!

Wilder has made some great signings this season but for me luck is the best of the lot.

The stats show we’ve generally been unlucky this season. We dropped more stupid points conceding in injury time than Leeds and Norwich put together.

Also we’ve only scored a single last minute goal early the season. Leeds and Norwich have scored injury time goals steeling points several times this season.

I know, i'm taking the piss out of the Bristol wrag saying our clean sheets are partially down to luck.
