Houston we have a problem..........money.

I thought it was McCabe who wrote off half the debt with HRH and his team paying him the other half ?

As for the academy, from a purely business perspective,it makes a profit
Does it really? The average running cost for our class is abound 2.5 million per year, I believe. I don't think there's the remotest chance it makes a profit. Either way, there's some reason a squad packed with average players seems to cost more the assemble here than elsewhere in the third division.

I take it everyone has still forgotten about paying off a management team a matter of months into their contracts?

and that "free" transfers generally cost a decent signing on fee?

and that loans often attract a decent sized fee regardless of percentage of wages paid?
I agree with all those things foxy, but if your take a step back there's nothing about what we do that yiu wouldn't expect us to do in this division, without "millions going in".

I've said elsewhere, if a club like Oldham had made our summer signings, nobody would have noticed.

So far this window has produced:
McNulty
Higdon
McGahey
Basham
Butler
Campbell-Ryce
Davies
Wallace
Alcock
Turner
and McEveley

Not exactly game-changing is it?

I know we've paid off Weir and Co and we've got to pay wages and the academy costs etc etc. My point is that what we were told was that this was a game-changing move which would result in millions of pounds being invested in the club with the stated goal of reaching the premier league within five years. To me that means investment in players. What else can it mean?

McCabe needs to issue a retraction or resign. Not going to happen is it.

So in effect we've bought a whole new team potentially:
Turner
Alcock Butler McGahey McEveley
JCR Basham Wallace Davies
Higdon McNulty

I suspect that should be good enough to compete in this division.

That's not to say I think we wouldn't have been better served buying fewer, but higher quality.

Revisiting this we have to add:
Brayford
Coutts
Holt
Freeman
Davies S

Could someone point out the "Gamechanging Investment" there? No thought not. McCabe is a disgrace and should resign now for promising to invest £millions in the "playing side". This simply has not happened. No transfer fees are disclosed so we have to make estimates but whichever way you look at it we have sold a few and bought a few. Where has this got us? Well we finished two places higher than last season. McCabe should apologise and let Jim Phipps run the PLC on his own.

In August 2013, we were led to believe we were about to see a new dawn. At last the sorry decline of the club was about to be reversed and we would be heading back to where we belonged, the promised land (sorry Premier League). All you can say is that we haven't gone backwards
