Geoff Horsfield has joined Scunthorpe on loan for the remainder of the season but will not be permitted to play against the Blades next weekend.
United face the Iron at Bramall Lane on 9th February.
Horsfield, who scored in the Carling Cup for the Blades earlier this season, has not featured in the Championship this term.
The experienced striker joins defender Mamadou Seck at Glanford Park for the remainder of the season. He becomes the second player to exit Bramall Lane on transfer deadline day after Leigh Bromby joined Watford on Thursday morning.

He has to be up there with Jon Ebrell in terms of wasted money, although it is through no fault of his own.

Glad to be rid of him though i dare say we will still be stuck paying a large chunk of his wages.
