Poor excuse for a footballer IMHO.

Exactly what we do not need right now.

Justifying plain shitness by stating he will score goals will not wash.

Any half decent lad off the kop could score 10 in a season.

If that is the benchmark, god help us.

UTB.

Ahhh another 10 a season from the Kop warrior. I'm sorry but no they wouldn't and people really need to stop deluding themselves that they can do any better. The bloke may not be a world beater, which is probably why he plays for you but I can guarantee that you and your mates wouldn't last 5 minutes in a professional game of football. Its criticism like this that is the unwarranted bollocks that people like Porter get the brunt of.

That right ??

Tell that to Charlie Austin !!!!!

Ps I didn't say me or my mates. Read what I actually said.

It's going to be very interesting to see how Nigel plays O.Donald.
If O,Donald plays the way he wants his center forward to play we should get a better idea of how he means to set up his team because as Keith Edwards has said many times it's all about partnerships.....

i thought he said Parsnips.

Is it just me, has every striker under clough struggled or been garbage, if o grady has a poor spell upfront will people then say its cause he's shot, crap, unfit, fat etc...
Think its down to the manager never playing strikers, and now the team don't know how to play with a striker..
you might have a point there.. it's like under blackwell we thought all of our midfielders were shite and some of them ended up in the prem.

The problem with "some" Blades fans is they tend to see a player once or twice and think he is therefore shit forever.

Can remember fans saying Delboy was better than Bardsley at right full back - seem to think Bardsley has played the majority of his games in the premier since.

So on to my favourite chestnut of the moment - glad most fans are now appreciating what Basham brings to the table.......

As for Higdon, if COG becomes first choice in our 4-5-1 formation, Higdon may become the 20 minute impact player - which just happen to suit him.

Time will tell - but please give COG time to settle as well as Higdon in what may be his new role.

Even better, some blokes off the Kop are better than professional footballers.

On one hand he appears to be never fit. I have never known a player take so long to get match fit, get suspended, get match fit, get injured and get match fit again. It appears to me he is worse than Porter but gets thrown the "he will be great when he is fit" card.

On the other hand I do have some sympathy as a fully paid up member of the strikers union. If the crosses aren't coming in and you are supposed to be the lump on the end of them its bloody frustrating. Then you get the ball delivered into you and it bounces off you so you look like the worlds worst player. He isn't the first and he won't be the last to suffer this. We just don't play down the line and crosses into the box. When we do we score goals. Look at the goals Higdon scored against MK. Crosses into the box and feeding on scraps. How often does that happen for us in a game? We don't throw bodies forward so he has little to no support and nothing to feed off. I'm not saying he helps himself but I do think he is one of a long list that hasn't made it with us because we don't actually try to use our strikers in a way that gets the best out of them. I'm sorry but they can't all be shit otherwise someone needs firing.

Agree with all that apart from Higdon not being fit. He's fit, he's a big unit, but agree he couldn't possibly be match fit after all the setbacks including the 3 match suspension.

Key thing is to feed him service where he wants it and then judge him. I said the other day if you want him to play like a terrier and harass and chase around and run the channels forget it, he's a St Bernard not a terrier. He was a St Bernard at Motherwell and he was a St Bernard when Clough signed him. Thing is terriers struggle to jump very high from a lower base. Actually St Bernards don't jump that well so the analogy is probably very good because Higdon's technique is to get in position and stand his ground and not let defenders get close, he doesn't do jumping very much either!!:)

Higdon could be the 10 second impact player if you dropped him from the top of the South Stand. Right on top of the away dugout.

There is no elephant in the room. Not any more, Higdon's eaten it.
